We saw similar comments when Feaster and B. Sutter were first hired.

I'm so pumped for this tourney. I should be able to watch all three games with how amazingly they timed them around my busy schedule. Unfortunately this never happens with regular season games.. watching a game after the fact just doesn't do it for me.

Hunter Smith article:

“This is a pretty different summer for me — pretty chopped up,” says Smith. “But I thought I did a pretty good job with my training, just making everything work. I wouldn’t say it was a summer unlike any other . . . but it was definitely busy. I was very happy with the way it went.”

“At the development camp, a lot of the coaches, who maybe hadn’t seen me play, maybe thought I was going to be a bit slower for a big guy,” says Smith. “But I think I’m impressed them. Now, hopefully, they notice bigger strides in my skating at this camp, at the rookie tournament.”

“I’ve been just focusing on staying in shape, keeping my pace up, my legs under me, before I get to Calgary,” he says. “That was the main thing.”

“It’s going to be my first games (this season),” says Smith, who sat out the recent exhibition dates in Oshawa. “I’m going to keep things simple — just play my game. That’s the biggest thing I’m going to try to do in Penticton.

“First thing people are going to notice is my size. Then how hard I play. I think they’re going to like the way I hit, the way I work down low and create opportunities, not only for myself but for the guys I’m playing with.”

Bennett has been saying he's going to do everything possible in his attempt to make the Flames. I've not seen him say he's certain he's going to make it. There's a big difference between determination and arrogance.

I LOL at people that doubt Smith.

The two players who people will always associate with this last draft will be Bennet and Smith. That's my prediction. They are going to be very bright stars.

A big reason people probably forget about Hunter Smith or discounted him is because he went undrafted in his draft year.
