You know when I drive through Copperfield, I say all the time "This really is the worst neighbourhood in Calgary". I mean who wouldn't prefer to live next to the drop in center? Free needles everywhere, plenty of creeps to stare at your children and live MMA fighting right on your doorstep for free! What do they have in Copperfield? Playgrounds and Schools? Gross.

That's where I grew up (Dalhousie). There is seriously nothing special about the area. The only thing people do for fun is flick their cigarette butts at Nosehill just to watch it burn.

Brentwood is really ugly. Dalhousie at least all the power cables are buried so the neighbourhood looks reasonably nice. Brentwood is a rundown shatsville with powerlines criss-crossing everywhere.

Ahh yes, my yearly reminder that moving from Killarney/Glenbrook area to Canyon Meadows was a bone headed move on my part.

It's a dumb, arbitrary list. That two neighbouring, almost identical communities can be so divergent on this list speaks to how idiotic the methodology is.

Isn't this decided based on who spams the vote the most? If it isn't, I'm confused about how Ogden rates many times higher than places like Eagle Ridge and Kelvin Grove and only marginally worse than Mount Royal

Its just a massive troll job to inspire some pseudo-pride and keep Avenue magazine relevant.

Mahogany isn't even on the list and it's the fastest growing community in Calgary.

Great list, Avenue.

Given the cutbacks in journalism, I think this is just a random list of Calgary neighbourhoods.

It's funny when people in the deep SE make fun of other deep SE communities. They're all crappy to those of us who actually live in the city .

Yes, this has all of the scientific method of drawing neighbourhoods out of a hat. Or perhaps, of they were in a gaming mood, using a Yahtzee cup.

How it is possible that Riverbend has more than double the score for access to restaurants, coffee shops, and bars (68) to Inglewood (29) and more than triple to Mission (22)?
