Hard to see the logic in starting your big FA goalie vs the bottom feeding Oilers, the going with your back-up in the first real test of the year.
It shows a lack of confidence by going for the sure win against a bottom feeder. Brent had the same loser mentality and did the same thing going into LA. The difference is we'd end up losing both games because the team could see he thought of them as losers.

Nashville tried the Calgary rope-a-dope game plan vs. the 'Hawks, after Hutton let in a soft goal from Oduya, the 'Hawks battered away and out shot the Preds 12-3 in the 1st and 11-4 in the 2nd...the Preds got more offensive in the 3rd and out shot the 'Hawks (12-11)...
Both teams first shots beat the goalie...but Weber's goal was off a virtual 5 on 3 PP (5 on 4, but Shaw had just stepped out of the box and was out of the zone), that deflected off of Rozival's skate to beat Crawford.
In OT, Craig Smith made an AWFUL drop pass at the offensive Blue Line, while on a 4 on 3 PP...Toews' GWG was on a shorthanded breakaway.
A 2-1 final...Preds got a point and stay in 1st, in the Central, 'Hawks have a game in hand, trailing by 1 point for 2nd.

Wonder how cocky the Vancouver Post Game radio guy will be tonight. Very bad decision to play eddy lack tonight vs. the Lightning, I don't think Vancouver makes the playoffs this year.
"Columbus is a bitch to play against", man I love Frieds. Why not have an anything goes show at this time of night. Tuck your kids in bed and let these guys let it fly.
The segment with Eliotte Friedman and Nick Kypreos was also pretty lopsided earlier, with Kypreos just flopping like a dead fish.
The funny thing is I don't even find Friedman a great "hockey analyst". His strength is as a reporter, which he's great at, not insight into the game. But he still outdoes Cox and Kypreos.

It's funny how they keep making him look stupid since they made him their "Bob McKenzie"
They should've gone with Elliott
I love when they did his top prospects segment earlier this week, I didn't bother wasting a second watching that. They're just forcing it really, since they know they can't touch McKenzie's or even Button's insights. The draft is going to painful to witness with analysis from this ragtag group of bozos.

He didn't even know how to pronounce a couple of the names
I don't know why they don't pony up and keep bringing in former players to the panel. I enjoyed JS Giguere tonight, and think it would be beneficial to bring in actual hockey people to the panel, and not just bottom six players that had a cup of coffee almost a decade ago (Kypreos, Stock, and Healy). Heck go after Tortorella, Oates, or Andy Murray; anyone different than the all the same old retreads from Sportsnet and CBC.
