I liked the first special more. I saw the second special months ago. There's a crappy cellphone video of the same bits on youtube.

I still think Mike Birbiglia is my favourite comic right now. I appreciate his story telling ability and how flawless he weaves in and out of his jokes.

A good conversation with Jerry Seinfeld (you can skip the first ~17 mins, as it's just the audio of Comedians - Coffee with Julia Louis-Dreyfus).

Mike Birbiglia is finally coming to Western Canada in March. Probably the best story-telling comedian working today.

Tickets available on Ticket Fly, use the promo code NEWONE:

Yep, great show. I was thinking on the drive home that his performances are more like a one man show rather than a routine stand-up set.

Definitely an art form. I brought a few people who had never heard of him and they loved it. Such a unique show.

For anyone heading to the Jim Jefferies show tonight, I think we're in for a treat. Jim's all riled up on Twitter today during his flight.

It was really funny. The random appearance by drunk Tim Roth to introduce Jim was great.

Was Jeffries new material? He was just here a year ago and it was the material that is in his just released Netflix special. I’d be impressed if he had a full new routine only a year later.

All brand new. He's said in the past that when he records a bit, he doesn't like to do it again. However, he did the Gunta bit at the end, tied into a new story about his mother.

This was the early show.

Watching Richard Pryor's Netflix special from 1979. Holy ####, this stuff is timeless. Hilarious stuff.

I was really underwhelmed. And I like Demetri Martin quite a lot. It was pretty bland, and I don't know what the point of the inner monologue bits were.

Might have had something to do with the fact that I watched Beer Hall Putsch the night before, which is basically pure stand-up genius (regardless of whether Stanhope is your personal taste, you have to acknowledge how impressive a feat it is to write that stuff). It's sort of like Bo Burnham - not for everyone, yet undeniably a genius.

I thought the new Demetri Martin special was pretty good. The voiceover went well with the "Overthinker" theme.

Stanhope is my favourite comedian. His recent show here in Calgary had me in tears.

Yeah, I got the connection between the title and the voiceovers, I just thought it was gimmicky and unnecessary. His whole comedy identity is overthinking things. He's essentially the stand-up equivalent of the Philosoraptor meme.

This stuff is great.
