This offside rule is ridiculous.

If it takes 5 minutes to decide if its off-side... should just go with call on the ice.

I'm guessing this goal gets called back on the offside

If a player is 100% in the air, is he in the zone or out of it?
He was straddling the line, then jumped as the puck was being brought across.

Ha. Stupid Oilers. Drew thinks the NHL is wrong because the challenge went to the Preds. Let's see how long he complains.

How the hell does Drew Remenda conclude that that is offside?

Wow you can hear Remada's whiner gland going into full production.
They need to put a two minute timer on reviews, that was ridiculous its almost like they were trying to look for a reason to over turn it.

Exactly. There is no way that should have been overturned.

Poor Remenda sounds like he is going to cry. The only time the Oilers look somewhat dangerous is when they have a PP. So expect lots of dives by the Oilers here.

Once you cross the blue line with one foot, which Arvidsson did, you're on-side as long as some part of your body is touching either the blue line or the ice in the neutral zone. Once that is no longer true, you're off-side. The instant Arvidsson's feet left the ice, he was off-side.
They bored everyone to tears for 10 minutes for the sake of "getting the call right," and still goofed it up. The NHL!

That's why he wasn't offside. if he had left that one skate on the ice it would have been offside. He negated it by jumping with both feet in the air.

I wonder if it depends on whether he was offside or onside before he went into the air. In this case he was onside.
But... Could a player dive into the zone and be considered onside as long as he's in the air the entire time?

I think so.
If a player is well offside, standing beside the goalie then jumps as the puck is being brought in he has to still be considered offside.
In this case, the Pred was straddling the blueline (onside), then jumped in the air... so he stays onside.

Just sitting and watching the end of the Oilers game in the hopes of a greaser loss, but I just had to comment as I don't really see a lot of Nashville hockey: That Filip Forsberg is friggin' fun to watch! Man!

Looking through the rule book is proving unhelpful for this situation.
