Yes. Since he was drafted out of Europe, the CHL/NHL agreement doesn't apply.

I like this pick. Not every guy is drafted to play a top six role. Inexpensive role players contribute in a big way on playoff teams.

News UpdateEverett just selected Tuulola 40th overall in the CHL import draft
May come to the WHL this year, if he can get out of his Finnish team's contract

great news. Don't know how good of a fit the Silvertips are, but it's great to have him come over and get used to the NA game.

Everett is a very defense first, low scoring team. If he goes there I wouldn't expect any gaudy offensive numbers that's for sure.

Nice. I thought his contract status wasn't an issue. They way he said it in his draft interview seemed pretty concrete.

I'd like to see him in the WHL actually. A guy with his size and drive could dominate the WHL and get him rolling developmentally for the NA ice. I have high hopes for this player.

Silvertips GM Garry Davidson says that Tuulola's representatives have indicated that he will report to Everett.

Too bad the Silvertips do not visit the Hitmen this season.

The Silvertips seem to have a pretty awful record at producing NHLers, particularly NHL forwards. Hopefully Eetu can buck that trend.

As well our Director of Player Personal Ron Sutter's son Riley plays for the Silvertips. Ron is very plugged into the Silvertips great stepping stone place for Tuulola.

I like the move to the CHL but that's not a great team to get drafted into. They got some wins last year but all that team tries to do is choke games out and win 1-0 or 2-1. They only had one guy score more than 50 points last year (58) and are losing almost everybody who was half decent except Hart while Seattle heads into a peak, I think he might have a tough year there.
Plus side? Maybe he sees a ton of ice and really learns a 200 foot game.

It's the way Constantine runs that team - hard hockey to watch at times. If Carter Hart wasn't in net last year (drafted by PHI this year), that would have been a pretty awful team. I'm a Silvertips season ticket holder and I'll be hoping to see good things from Eetu.

Looks like I might have to go to a bunch more Silvertips games this year to follow this guy!

Sure, why not. It'll be nice to get much better updates on him and how he's doing.

Thought it might be prudent to bump this thread with a little update after everyone got excited over him at development camp:
Tuulola, as a first-year North American skater, is currently 8th on the Silvertips in points with 26 in 48 games. It seems that he may have missed some time in the process.
In regards to his physical play... unfortunately I cannot find a website which records hits in the Dub. But I can report that his jersey number continues to be awesome. 8-2. His name is 'Aay-too'. See?
