most of you have seen this in past years

fun way to crank out how things finish. Keep in mind you have to watch your results for the Central ... one team gets third, the other a wild card.

only choose

win
loss
otl
otw

and for white boxes only, the gray boxes fill in automatically

awesome tool!

I've got the Flames going 5-2 and the Oil going 2-5. that gets us the desired first round matchup against San Jose, who will go 3-4

Ugh,

I have Anaheim winning the division with 103, and San Jose and Edmonton holding 2nd and 3rd both at 100. Calgary finishes 2 points back at 98
So I guess
Chicago vs. Nashville
Anaheim vs. Calgary
Minnesota vs. St. Louis
San Jose vs. Edmonton.

Anaheim wins the division (102 pts) with SJ finishing second (101 pts).

Flames in third with 99 points, and the Oilers with a huge slide down the stretch to finish with 94.

First round matchups if the current standings in the Central Div. hold:

· Nashville @ Anaheim
· Calgary @ SJ
· St. Louis @ Minnesota
· Edmonton @ Chicago

I have Anaheim at 101, then 3 way tie in pacific at 98.
St.Louis catches Nashville as their run home is super easy

I ended up with the following:

Anaheim wins the division with 104 points

San Jose and Edmonton both end up with 100 points, but San Jose gets 2nd in the division with a greater number of ROWs.

Flames end up with 98 points and the 1st wildcard spot.

St. Louis and Nashville both end up with 96 points, but St. Louis ends up 3rd in the division with more ROWs.

First round match-ups as a result, home teams on the left

Blackhawks vs. Predators

Wild vs. Blues

Ducks vs. Flames

Sharks vs. Oilers

Anaheim finishes strong at 105... Calgary as well, at 101

Edmonton impressive at 100... and San Jose limps to the finish with 95.

Nashville at 99 ... St. Louis at 98

So...

CHI - SJS
MIN - NSH

ANA - STL
CGY - EDM

Personally, this is near ideal scenario... I'd like to switch SJS and STL, so every first round matchup is a heated rivalry

It took this exercise for me to see that Edmonton's remaining schedule looks pretty daunting, considering their fairly underwhelming results against playoff teams:

· Three tough interdivisional home games
· Three in California
· Concluding on back-to-backs against the Canucks who have been holding their own with nothing on the line against the better teams in the league, and will have something to prove in the final two games of the year.

I have the Oilers earning 3 points in their final seven.

2nd, just so we get home ice and play Edmonton in the 1st round. SJ drops to wild card...I know it won't happen but one can dream.

I have:

Ducks go 4-3-0 (101 points, 41 ROW)
'Charks' go 4-2-1 (100 points, 43 ROW)
Oilers go 3-3-1 (98 points, 40 ROW)
Flames go 6-0-1 (101 points, 44 ROW)
Predators go 4-2-2 (97 points, 40 ROW)
Blues go 7-1-0 (100 points, 46 ROW)

For the following matchups:

Flames (P1) vs Oilers (WC1)
Ducks (P2) vs Sharks (P3)
Blackhawks (C1) vs Predators (C2)
Wild (C2) vs Blues (C3)

I entered my result into the poll wrong. Whoops!

1. Sharks 104 (tie-breaker)
2. Ducks 104
3. Blues 98 (tie-breaker)
WC 1. Predators 98
3. Flames 97
WC 2. Oilers 95

Oilers @ Blackhawks
Predators @ Sharks
Flames @ Ducks
Blues @ Wild

The Oilers have a much tougher schedule than is being implied by some.
