Some things just don't change. Hopefully Lewis's bad starts continue and he's 5th or worse by turn 1 tomorrow. Ferraris look like they should give the Mercedes trouble this year.
It appears the field is more spread out as was predicted preseason. But I'm not sure that's always a bad thing. What matters is that we have battles for positions. Spread out is ok if there are tiers. Mercs and Ferrari for the lead. Red Bull might be on a bit of an island but hopefully Haas, Williams and Toro Rosso or even Renault can create an exciting battle in the midfield.
Excited to see if Stroll can battle his way up the grid tomorrow (tonight).
Just read that Renault had to abandon their 2017 MGU-K and revert to the 2016 version because of reliability issues. And they did it for the works and customer teams (renault, STR and RBR). Article also said they won't upgrade back to the new version until as late as Barcelona. That's a major blow to Red Bull's chances of fighting for podiums. The old version is less powerful and heavier putting all three teams at a significant disadvantage.

Tough to judge by one race, but there wasn't a lot of on track overtaking. Good for Bottas holding his own. Poor poor Ricciardo, nothing going right for him. The cars sure look fast though.
So this is huge news and kind of came out of nowhere. Fernando Alonso will miss the Monaco GP and instead race in the Indy 500. McLaren will team up with Andretti's team.

Also Bernie isn't afraid to be hilariously hypocritical.
He's looking at buying Interlagos and is now trying to campaign Liberty to lower race fees. Even though he was known to go to extreme measures to extort money out of promoters and governments.
So really, the only person who "retired" (I am counting Button's, even though it technically isn't a retirement) last season and is actually retired is Rosberg...
