Loves me some Granlund. Good move. Need to find room for this guy on the roster. He has done everything asked of him, been patient in his development and become a two-way player, and still has potential to grow. A really solid second/third-line player whose time has come. Keep him up.

That's a strange assessment to make for the flames best player at preventing scoring chances...

Pretty sure Jones started a game on the top line not too long ago and was promptly taken off.

I think keeping up with Johnny's play making might be an issue.

Gaudreau and Granlund have displayed some real chemistry before. Early last year, prospect camps. The prospect tournament. They play well together.

He spent one or two shifts on their line 3 games ago. Followed by Hudler taking back 1st line duties for absolutely no reason.

Jones isn't slow and he's great at driving to the net. He can also score from far out which compliments Gaudreau's playmaking ability. He's the Flames leading goal scorer for a reason.

You need more than speed as we have seen with players like Raymond and Comeau.

Default Flames recall Markus Granlund

I like Jooris' work ethic but he always struck me as kind of the odd man out with this group. I assumed he'd stick with the team and flail his arms around aggressively for a few months like he seems to, but then end up fading away when a more skilled or bigger player comes along.

As for Granlund, the organization's obviously still sensing some mojo there, so hopefully he pots a few, resurrects the team's fortunes, and everything goes back to normal.

I like the look of these lines much better and it puts Bennett back at center and Granlund on the wing. It also allows for a 2nd center to take faceoffs if the first is thrown out of the dot on all but Bennetts line.

Bennett's line too, come to that. Hudler played C for Detroit from time to time. In fact, hockeydb lists him as a centre.

Didn't know where else to put this. Good for Marty, especially for how bad our special teams have been.

Asst. Coach Martin Gelinas absolutely lambasting #Flames at practice ..criticizing teams practice work ethic..#doesnthappenoften

Ugh

He has been thoroughly disappointing in his time previously in the NHL and his numbers in Stockton aren't very impressive, although that may be a team thing as nobody looks good statistically down there.

I really hope they don't continue to try and force him as a center, he looks especially awful in that role.

The lines from practice look terrible in my view. Jones on the top line? Why because he has got some fluke goals this year to pad his stats? Why keep trying to force Backlund as the center with Frolik and Bennett? They have chemistry and he has been crap? Really don't like Bennett still on the wing.

Scoring fluke goals is still better than not scoring any goals. Until Hudler gets going mentally/physically, Jones' hustle all season should and has been rightfully recognized by the coach for the time being.

I don't care what the rest of the lines are, I just want to see Bennett and Gaudreau together for at least a month. Every shift, every game whenever possible.
