This seems so crazy. I’ve posted my grievances before in other forums as well. There are online people that seriously suggest that logging will make it safer for bragg creek residents in the case of a fire. As if residents of the town would actually want the trees logged. It’s lunacy. It’s clearly easy pickings for the logging company and has nothing to do with Bragg residents or trail users. I’m of the opinion that there must be other areas with less affect on locals, that could be harvested. Like they may as well log fish creek too. For the safety of the people of woodbine etc lol.

Me too, but I'm going as part of the 'Grow Kananaskis Initiative.'
The first thing we need to do is clear-cut a large swathe of land and pave it so that we can use it as a foundation.
We can make structures with the lumber we've acquired and I've already outlined the ideal areas for parking lots as well as The Bear Penitentiary.

If unable to attend the open house tonight (or the ride/hike up Moose Mountain road tomorrow) this other organization Bragg Creek & Kananaskis Outdoor Recreation (BCKOR) has a page highlighting clearly how you can help, including signing a petition & emailing relevant politicking peeps...
https://www.bckor.ca/how-to-help.html
Thanks - may the forest be with us...

It's a good thing there are no wind farms now permitted to be built that would ruin these pristine viewscapes they are going to destroy.
What a farce this province is.

You can't see the forest for the trees with a windmill in the way.

TransAlta cancels wind power project over new government rules on development
https://calgary.ctvnews.ca/transalta...ment-1.6873595
Quote:
A major Alberta utility has cancelled a large wind power project in response to new government rules on where such developments can be built.
TransAlta CEO John Kousinioris said Friday the 300-megawatt Riplinger project near Cardston in southern Alberta will no longer proceed.
"We've reassessed our growth plans in the province," he said in a conference call to analysts.
"(The project) has been impacted by the new restrictions on development near protected areas and pristine viewscapes and will not be advanced. The project has been removed from our growth pipeline."
TransAlta is also to put three other developments on hold, as the government goes through a redesign of the province's electricity market.

It's the second setback this week for low-carbon energy generation in Alberta.
Electricity generator Capital Power announced Wednesday it would cancel plans for a $2.4-billion carbon capture and storage project for its natural gas facility near Edmonton.
CEO Avik Dey said the cost of the project was too high and the regulatory environment around it too uncertain to justify going ahead.
