All depends when they bought the Falcon, as it's worth thousands now.

A professional LEGO builder takes on making an EF76 Nebulon-B frigate, the well-known Rebel medical ship.

Watched the Porsche 911 video, which led me to this one:

I was really on the fence about this set in the first place. The video sealed it. Not interested at all. I don't see why it's a UCS set, instead of "several playsets for kids". Spring loaded whatsits? Shooting guns? Power generator blows apart? Yeah, those can be neat functions, to be sure, but on a playset, not a UCS set.

You can pretty much built that set using the previously released Hoth sets. There's hardly anything new or special about it.

And I agree that UCS sets should skew towards models, and not playsets. AFOLs are the people willing to spend hundreds for them, and we don't care about playability.

No mention of price, although I can't imagine that it will be under $200, and apparently the model is completely empty inside (except for the "bell")?

Yeah, the Millennium Falcon has 1300+ pieces and is $179.

This one is 4,163 pieces. It won't be cheap.

I'd say even more, the Sydney Opera House is $379 and has just under 3,000 pieces.

The Sydney Opera House was on my to-buy-eventually list, now I don't know if I'd want that or this one!

EDIT: Nope you're right, $299: http://shop.lego.com/en-CA/Big-Ben-10253
