Check bricklink. You can buy complete skier minifigs or the parts to build one.

DIF's suggestion is a good one. Did you ask the folks at the Chinook store if they could/would order bits for you? They could have done that, too, I think.

How much like skis do they need to look like? I don't know how well Legos take to heat shaping, but maybe a 1x3 piece with a bend at the tips?

LEGO makes actual skis for mini-figs; some of the them were included in my winter village sets from previous years.

Yup that's where I got the two I have now! They have 2 more in this year's, but wasn't going to pay $100 just for the skiers.

Good suggestion, but I want the actual skis.

Thanks! I'll look there.

Managed to find skis/poles at BrickOwl. Got some heads and toques too. Now I just need to find torsos with jackets. Brickowl didn't have. I'll check bricklink.

Kunkstyle, you are in trouble now! Once you find Bricklink, the LEGO ordering never stops. Pretty soon you will be ordering thousands of pieces to build a custom creation. You'll run out of room, have not time to actually build anything with the LEGO, but will keep buying and buying ....

Haha I curtailed my lego purchases years ago. I think I'll be safe for now. Just a goofy little project I'm working on for a friend.

OMG! They have made it! To be released in January.

Only one question remains: will Ecto-1 fit inside?

From Lego's facebook page:

$399 CAD, 4600 pieces. Full interior.

9 Minifigs: Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz, Egon Spengler, Winston Zeddemore, Janine Melnitz, Dana Barrett, Louis Tully, Zombie Driver and Library Ghost. Also comes with Slimer, Pink Ghost and Blue Ghost.

If you're looking to get a bunch of bricks on the cheap, Walmart has a sale on for the 1500 piece Creative Box 10697 for $40.

By comparison, the Creative Box with half the bricks is $60 at Toys R Us and the Lego store..

I picked up two of these this morning. I think they are getting hard to find now. The Wal-Mart I stopped at only had 5 left after I took mine.

Thanks for the tip! My fiancee picked one up at Marlborough on her way home. We then decided to get more so we spent the evening driving to most of the Walmarts in the city looking for them. Marlborough, Deerfoot Mall, Northland and Beacon Hill were already cleaned out but we found a whole bunch at Westbrook (they were less prominently displayed there without a sales sign or anything). Best deal on bulk Lego I've ever seen.
