This sounds like an urban dictionary description for a phrase that is escaping me. Some sort of "rub one out" reference?

Maybe that could be the new phrase. "Think they'll let player X rub one out, or straight back to juniors?"

This is supposed to be sayings, spelling grammar mistakes are gear grinding thread material. But since you went there, a guy in the US navy ship accident thread said "It could have been much worst" today.

I don't know what it is with worse/worst but it seems uneducated and educated alike really struggle with that one. I'm not claiming any high ground as I struggled learning a lot of things but this one baffles me only in that nobody struggled with it in grade school at a young age, and yet it seems a disproportionate amount of adults do.

Why is this?

"discussing the issues that matter"

In particular, the usage by the alt-right and the ever increasing prevalence of the mentality of the statement within our society.

No, you're not talking about the issues that matter, you are just a racist. Nothing you are saying will accomplish anything positive.

Strangely, I prefer that to "sir".

Maybe cause "boss" was a huge compliment between my friends growing up.

I figured this one out a while back. Just call them boss right back. Throws them off big time. Especially if you can get in a preemptive Boss before they even get it out there.

The standard "People still X?" saying for anything that is being phased out or starting to die. You're trying to sound witty, but really you just sound stupid and unable to comprehend that just because something is on it's way out and many have jumped to the new thing doesn't mean literally every person is out.

*thread about banks

"People still use banks?"

Really? Yeah, people still use banks.....most ****ing people to be exact. Everyone wants to get that comment in and it's rarely as accurate as they condescendingly claim it to be.

Butthurt. Just a terrible phrase. Salty is not much better.

I'm surprised there aren't more corporate jargon ones in here. I have a lot but I'm worried they might be specific to my company.

"All Lives Matter"
"Fake News"
"Libtard"
"Make America Great Again"
"I voted for Donald Trump"

If I hear any of these phrases come out of someone's mouth, I want to punch my fist all the way through their skull.

We could go on for weeks with corporate stuff. Years ago I worked with a project leader who had many sayings. Before one meeting we took the standard BS Bingo form and replaced it with his sayings and gave copies to team members before a meeting. It made the long drawn out meeting much more entertaining.

"Take us down a rat hole" was one of his favs.

My favourite way of pointing out how dumb this is to use this word that when they say it my response is "Wait, I thought you wanted it thawed? And isn't it still frozen?" This usually gets me glares from my wife but it gets my point across.
