Lol case point to my post about media downplaying Coronatos game last night already:

Easton Cowan scored a goal for the Leafs and they can’t stop talking about it.
Already posts up on Sportsnet…

But hey, Calgary doesn’t matter.

I love that the Flames media are ho hum about a 3 goal, 4 point game and tempering excitement because they're drawing on wisdom of years past and it isn't lost on them that things don't always translate to real games, and doing the little things right all over the ice is arguably as important or more so than points in a preseason game.

Toronto and Edmonton are amazingly naive every year, despite the long list of names that didn't pan out after racking up points in the preseason. They're consistently blinded by pretty plays when that has very little bearing on how the player will fare as a day to day nhler.

Has this been shared yet? Really great seeing Huberdeau play this role and Pelletier clearly looks up to the guy

The top players look great thumping the Canucks and we get complaints and if they won 3-0 the season would have been written off already.

I like having them get some confidence as they go through camp much better than the mental warfare of last season.

I was interested to see if you're right but did the NHL change their website? I can't find the shift charts they used to have for every player.

Hey, they achieved the metric they wanted: Time of engagement per user.

You see, before, people knew where to find stuff, they found it, they left. The test users for the new site design had to faff around looking for stuff that used to be easy to find, but now is hidden or completely absent. They start by saying, ‘Where the #### did they put that? I know where it used to be,’ and end by saying, ‘#### this ####,’ and going away.

But they spend lots of time before they go away, and that drives engagement numbers. The fact that they may never come back doesn't register, because the testers weren't measuring that.
