I remember voting for the name Edmonton Elks because the name sucks, and I'm not even a CFL fan, but Edmonton is no good, so it deserves a no good name. Fan polls can be fun

Not sure if it’s been said here, but team name will be Utah not Salt Lake City. They want there to be a Utah brand so to speak, continuity with the Utah Jazz.
Along that line, there is a possibility they will go with Utah Blizzard with the “zz” tie in. There is history with that name too in the hockey community there.

that's kinda what I had "Disco" pointed at continuity with the Jazz in so far as they are both popular 20th century music genres. but mostly I was joking with all of those names.

There was also a movement to just go with Utah HC (perhaps on a temporary basis till they came up with a final name)… if they try that the team should be immediately moved to Quebec.

They would do that to double up on merch sales. People would want to grab the Utah HC jerseys/gear, then when they announce the name next year people will rush to buy the named gear.
