Glen Gulitzan for coach of the year
Given the 5-10 start to the season and what has happened since then I would think that Gully should get some consideration for the award.
As someone who wanted him gone earlier in the year I can clearly see how his system has been instrumental in getting us to where we are. Team defence is much better and overall this team is playing some of it's best hockey in many years
Not trying to put the kiss of death on Gully. Just think he deserves consideration

It's Tortorella's award to lose at this point, but I could absolutely see Gully getting some consideration.
It's either Gulutzan, Tortorella, Boudreau, Boucher, or MacLellan at this point.

Funny, I had just posted this in the PGT. I am actually surprised I haven't heard a peep about him being considered. He has the Flames playing a very impressive game.

I think the awful start to the year disqualifies him in comparison to Torts or Babcock.

Babcock? The coach who can't get his players to play defence or hold a lead? And are fighting tooth and nail to even get into the playoffs?
He doesn't even deserve to be in the conversation.

Honourable mention for me. Boudreau, Tortorella, and Trotz would be my finalists.

Of course he will be, rightly or wrongly he'll absolutely be there.

Naturally. Anybody who had concerns after October had concerns that were warranted.
I had those concerns. I admired the idea and theory of preaching patience, but even those preaching patience had arguably at least as much hope as wisdom.
Last season the team got better later in the year, fell back after Ramo was hurt, and second half special teams were improved. After the team improved towards the end in areas, although not enough across the board, it was alarming to see the crapping of the bed that began this year.
The way the team is playing now, though, absolutely Gully should be in the conversation.

I'm sure if Hartley could answer honestly , he would tell you he does not give a crap about his coach of the year award and would rather be coaching, not sure why anyone one CP should care either

One of the 590 Toronto Hockey Central guys said he would get votes about a week or two ago. Cant remember who it was, might have been Friedman.

Dessevedly. This 20 game stretch is amazing, and if they finish strongly, it suits a narrative that is very easy to articulate.

I would think Todd McLellan would get more consideration seeing he's going to break their 10 year drought. Flames were predicted to be a better team than the Oilers, Blue Jackets, etc. Gulutzan has done a great job righting the ship but I don't think it's a surprise if the Flames were to make the playoffs.

Out of the 5,
Tortorella, Boudreau and I hate to say it but MacLellan will get the nod over Gulutzan.

Gully for the Jack Adams. I think it is safe to say we have all felt this way since the start of the year, collectively, without any equivocation
