Default Why did YYC smell BAD this morning? (Sep 24)

I thought someone left a flaming bag of crap on my stoop when I left my house this morning (SW). When I got downtown, the smell was just as bad so I concluded that it wasn't something at my house.

Anyone know what it is other than the assumption that the winds were blowing south from Edmonton?

OK, I just thought the Denny's I went to at 6:30 was just you know... being a Denny's, and some homeless hooker pooped in the flower bed or something.

I too am curious what caused the fecal'esque aroma this fine morning.

I didn't notice that today, but did on Sunday, also at different locations several km apart. Smelled like manure to me.

Low. Can't even defend her anymore.

Aren't farmers fertilizing this time of year?

Sam Gagner's Oilers stench still hasn't quite worn off. May take a cpl more years.

This morning when I got into downtown it smelled like a sh$tty barn...literally. Like a troop of horses we're marching around downtown all night.

They were covering this on the news saying they ruled out the sewer and water in the city as being the cause and figured it was manure smell from outside the city blowing in.

It typically happens a few times a year. Between manure spreading outside the city and I think a weather inversion that circulates the smell, we end up with a odd smell in the city for a few hours.

I thought maybe that was the case. But I'd ridden the bus in without any smell and the smell disappeared when I got to my building. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about poo on my shoe

Same with me. As I walked out of my house I remember thinking, Ah the sweet smell of #### in the morning. I thought it was unique to my neighbourhood. Then as I got out of my car at the train station I got worried as I could still smell it. Did my cat #### on my jacket? Did I soil myself on the drive over without knowing? Is my ass covered in poop? Glad to see it's a city wide issue.
