I can confirm that this was a structured buyout of Dave Tippett. No details available.

On eve of NHL Draft, Coyotes have no coach, no captain (yet), no president/CEO, no starting G, no No. 1 C (still), no prez of hockey ops.

I think Tippett is a good coach but it was probably time for both parties to part ways as things get stale over time even under the best coaches. I'm kind of surprised he survived when Maloney was fired. I would like to see him hired by the Flames in some capacity if he doesn't find work this season.

Boucher just led his team to within one goal of the Stanley Cup Finals in his first season there. To call him the worst is asinine.
IMO, it's Bednar and it isn't remotely close.

Because his system is what makes hockey terrible. You seem to be one of those people that cant see what's right in front of you.

Evidently, it works. I'd rather monotonously win than excitingly lose.

So you're a fan of his. I get it. He's a terrible coach and it will be a great day when he's gone, just like tippets ####ty system is gone. And also, lots of ####ty coaches have a run or two, doesn't make them good coaches. Did he win a cup? No. He's last.

I'm not expressly a fan of his, I can just recognize when a coach is successful. He revitalized the Sens this year. I don't know why boring hockey bothers you, but if it works, it works. He's a top-5 coach in my opinion.

But they do have a wealth of assets. If Chayka can make a few good moves they could turn it around pretty fast.

Chayka ran the Corsi numbers on Tippett and he didn't like what he saw.

Yeah I don't know if that's an ideal position for Darryl. He would do better to take over a team that's in a contending window like he did with the Kings. Coyotes are a mess and he deserves better than working under those conditions where it's a money ball experiment.

It doesn't invigorate me, ya bick dutt. It just seems that he's led Ottawa to a signficiant improvement. If a coach was to lead the Flames to the WCF in his first year, would you support him?
