More than ten pedestrians were hit by a white van driver who veered onto a pavement near a renowned north London mosque, in what is being described as a 'terrorist attack'.

Several people were reportedly hurt after the van ploughed into a crowd outside Finsbury Park Mosque, where hate cleric Abu Hamza once preached, as they finished Ramadan evening prayers called taraweeh.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing bystanders wrestle the suspect to the floor and pin him down until officers arrived.

I find it quite interesting when its a white person, the media goes out of its way to highlight it. This story is breaking and they're already including it in most headlings.

I would believe it is as well but no where have i seen this said for sure.

I know it was a white van that did the damage, but havent read a thing about the suspect other than those who werent hit wrestled the guy to the ground and held him til police arrived.

actually just saw this...

Bystanders wrestled a suspect to the floor. Officers on patrol nearby were at the scene within seconds and made one arrest.

A white man with black hair was seen being detained by police officers

Huh? We always hear about the suspects' race and religion in these things. Every single time. As soon as they know who it is they put it out there.

Media outlets are climbing over each other to learn that kind of information and get it out. That's their job. Whoever gets it first "wins".

There's no dark conspiracy to blame white people.

Who are you pointing fingers at here? Every politician in London has said this sort of terror attack is equally damaging to the British way of life as attacks by Islamic extremists against Western targets. I think in your rush to be the smart guy you've missed some key information.

You're correct; that's more of a US/Canada thing though we'll see how the American media spins it this morning.

I did notice the Daily Mail put "terrorist" in quotations however in their headline.

It's almost as if spreading hate and ignorance about the entire Muslim community in the aftermath of terror attacks gives ISIS exactly what they want.

I thought it sounded like a hate crime when this guy rammed a truck into a group of innocent people outside of a mosque. So far it is one dead and ten wounded and the police there are investigating it as an act of terrorism.

Police declared it a terrorist attack within minutes. Very different than the usual "until we investigate the attackers motives" line.
