Lets be honest, Patrick Maroon never hit more then 11 goals in his NHL career and then explodes for 27 at the age of 28. He's the epitome of the guy that will probably lose some production this year.

Talbot was a good pickup He's a good goalie there's no question, but he played out of his head last year and he also played almost every game. Again he had a career year. Is it sustainable? if he slips even a bit the Oilers tumble.

I like how this article has nothing to do with McDavid but they still find a way to mention him somehow:

Chiarelli trying to scare away the vultures:

Chris Johnston @reporterchris
Peter Chiarelli says the #oilers will match "any offer" if RFA Leon Draisaitl were to sign a "predatory offer sheet."

How does that scare people away? I'd do it exclusively to screw with him.

This is Boston's time to shine...maybe Buffalo?

I'm sure they will. I also think a team should sign him to one anyway. Him making 8.5 a year instead of 7.5 would be good news for our division.

Jeez, that is not a smart thing to say. Plenty of teams out there would love to jam the oilers cap space knowing Mcdavid is coming up. Plus, it seems like he is legitimizing that it could happen. This guy is kind of a donkey.

Yup, I hope 30 other GM's had a conference call, and they are all drafting up the 7 year $59.5 Million contract offers.

With the extra picks Vegas is stockpiling, it's an obvious move.

Right, but why say it at all? Hes your second-best player behind McJesus, of course they'd match, but this is like childish posturing.

After hearing that publicly as a divisional rival, I'd be preparing the 10 million dollar per 4 year contract since he can't back down from that position. Since he's going to match it I have nothing to lose. Plus I agree with the above, if I have any interest in McDavid, I would jam the Oilers now.

Treliving Burke pick your poison have done NOTHING to compete against the Greasers. They are soft the complete opposite of truculance. I am not implying fighters either the Flames are not a physical team and easily get walked on. Treliving needs to address this up front and on the D.
All around the Greasers are widening the gap all around on the Flames and leaving our team far behind. What are the Flames doing to close the gap??

1) I don't agree with your point much.
2) It took me about 3 reads to figure out what your point was, use some damn punctuation.
