There is a lot not to like about the jersey. I agree the laces look ridiculous. The sleeves though, ugh. Looks like a weird t-shirt to me.

Very nice! See Flames? It's not that hard...

With the acquisitions of Smith and Hamonic, Flames retail is breathing a partial sigh of relief knowing they'll sell at least a few new jerseys...

Spoiler!
Yes, much better!

After seeing the jersey on the prospects I have to say I'm not really a fan of the half black half red collar. Just looks weird and isn't really necessary. I'm not sure why they wouldn't just make it solid red with the thin line of black.

I am not the prime market as I only own one jersey (reebok home with Mony on it was given to me as gift). But that away set...I would throw money at that.

Barf.

Edit: Darn he removed it. It was a jersey with a Flaming C with the top part of the logo turning into a horse head.

On a happy note, I just picked up my retro Tkachuk jersey from the post office! First jersey I've purchased with a name on it! So sweet!

Saw a clip from NHL 18 on the Oilers instagram. Looks like the flames updated the socks as well on the new jerseys, at least for the road uniforms. They look pretty good actually.

If they made the home socks more similar to the 04s that would be a big win too I think aesthetically.

Updated socks on NHLuniforms.com now. I never realized before how much the socks didn't match with our old jersey. The biggest stripe on the previous home socks was white, when the white was actually the least used colour on the jersey itself. And we also got rid of the Germany away socks. These socks looks much better on both jerseys and match the sleeves.

Those would look so much nicer with the old script jersey shoulder patch. Looks... mediocre as is.

I will agree, though -- the socks have always been weird. I like how the perfectly match the arms now. Even with the old CCM jerseys that had that striping pattern on the socks, the black only extended partially down, and it didn't look quite right.

I might be in the minority, but that weird red/black combo is starting to wear on me. It just screams 90s/early 20s in a bad way. A tribal tattoo/nickelback/barbwire tattoo/creed/True Religion kind of way...

Really glad the piping is gone though.

Actually I think you're in the vast majority.

Black sucks.

Definitely the majority, same with the Stamps, WTF is with the black? But we all know that once you go black......

Anyway I WILL say here that the socks is a huge improvement to the uniform to go back to that pattern, will make the overall look of the uniform much better. Also, ditching italics on the fonts was a good move as well, it's subtle but looks much better.

Keeping the flags is a humongous fail, I'm not sure who's idea that was but that should be an insta-firing.

Overall, it's better, but probably still amongst the worst in the NHL. Even if they just went back to the uniform they had in 2004 would have been 10x better.

I like the new jersey more than the last version. I just really want them to fix the stripes down the pants. Losing them would be ideal but at least clean them up somehow, they need to be simpler, less busy.
