Ooooh don't like this deal for the Flyers. Schenn sort of came out this past season and seemed to find his game...

Gotta make room for Patrick. Love how they don't waste time. Great return as well.

will be interesting to see the conditions on the pick, but 2 firsts and a decent NHL forward, not bad

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Conditions on second pick from STL to PHI: top 10 protected, STL has option to push to 2019. If they do so, PHI also gets a third in 2020.

Jori Lehtera was the Blues Troy Brouwer. Hot garbage with a big cap hit. Blues had to pay a price to get rid of that contract. To get Schenn is a great plus. Nice work by Army to pull this off, depending on conditions of the pick or if salary was retained

wow. The Blues job fleeced here IMO.

The Flyers can easily afford giving up Schenn after being gifted Patrick. Giroux, Simmonds, Voracek, Filppula, Couturier, Konecny, Lehtera ... plus Patrick, and they also have German Rubtsov still developing. Not bad at all.

Problem is that group isn't getting it done. Would be quite excited if Calgary could pry Simmonds away, or someone like him from another team.

Very nice stiff price

Schenn always just seems on the cusp but never been that top line guy

When you don't watch a lot of NHL hockey like I don't Calgarypuck can be so confusing at times when trades/draft picking comes up. You can literally see definitive statements saying the exact opposite thing on almost every trade out there, lol.

Wawawee

Schenn was always a complimentary piece imo. Never a central piece of his own line. Those are more easily replace. A big portion of his goals/assists come from the power play near the net. Picking up two firsts is crazy good, and I like Schenn too

A player who leaves you wanting more. Good trade for the Flyers but I don't mind the Blues taking a chance on him

Such a great trade for Philadelphia. They finally address the biggest weakness on their roster: goaltending.

Oh wait........they didn't? *facepalm*

The Flyers haven't had a permanent/good answer to starting goaltender since Ron Hextall...who is now in management. That was 1998.

Consider this: at one time the Flyers had Sergei Bobrovsky, and they chose to keep Ilya Bryzgalov over him. woof.

They are currently going into next season with Michal Neuvirth and 23 year old unsigned RFA Anthony Stolarz as their goaltenders. You'd think that with the expansion draft opening up the goaltending market that they would have jumped at someone......nope.

Keep moving forwards around Philly, it's really working for you.

The player they used the pick on agrees:
