Heat both sides of the wall and it should thaw out.

800,000 BTUs that will thaw almost anything. It might have some downsides I haven't thought of yet.

Ran a space heater in there all night and no change. I wonder if it could be something other than a frozen pipe?

Okay, I'm no plumber...Disclaimer*
But it could be that the freeze happened somewhere further down the line? Because all signs seem to point to a frozen pipe?
*I am not a plumber and personally thought the flame-thrower idea was brilliant.

But all other water is working in the house, including the bathroom sink right next to the shower.

Unless you are heating directly on to the pipes, not thru drywall or tile, i think the cold from the other side is just winning the battle.

Hm. Okay. Thats a good point.
I am now officially out of my depth (aside from flamethrower recommendation, I'm still on that team) but I think you're gonna have to call a plumber.
I have a good one if you need a recommendation.

So if it is on an outside wall, and the insulation is in the wrong side, using a space heater probably wouldn't be enough to defrost it. I'd still suspect frozen.

Just out of curiosity, if the lines are behind drywall on the uninsulated side of the wall, what tools does a plumber have that could fix it?

Plumber can cut a hole in the wall.
(Or start a fire in the bathroom).

So basically what the homeowner could do, but is trying to avoid by calling a plumber?

One trick that is often given to northern trailer owners with frozen pipes is to close all the vents in the house and crank the heat. I know a few people who that worked for.
Also, this thread reminds me of an old Weird Al lyric, "When you flush the john and shower goes on.."
