Kempe would have beat him back to the net for any potential rebound. Funny enough the Oilers were playing it like a 3 on 3 OT, float high and hope for a turnover or save.
I'd love to watch a feature length McDavid complaining compellation.
Oh I want the Oilers to lose so we can get another full length documentary. I can see it now.
Spoiler!
Sad music
A Connor McDavid Production
Written by Connor McDavid
Directed by Connor McDavid.
Starring Connor McDavid as Connor
Leon Draisaitl as Leon
Darnell Nurse's wife as the woman he loved.
Introducing
Evander Kane as Gary the Gambler.
Then we zoom to a picture of an arena its all fuzzy and we see a fuzzy figure skating on it. We hear Conna's voice but its all monotone like with zero personality.
"I've always been the best in the world in my mind, I'd be the absolute best in the world if I hadn't been screwed and cheated all my life. By the Leabues I played in, by the coaches who tried to take me off when the opponents nets were empty, by the Referees. "
the music crescendo's towards the end of the documentary, after 45 minutes, of crying and whining, and a sour looking Draisaitl showing up for staged best friend scenes.
"But I've built a good life here in Edmonton, I have money, a hot girl, and a bitching house all done up in black and white"
The scene goes to a slow motion scene of McDavid dribbling a basket ball on a court running at a basket, we get inspirational music as McDavid in slow motion leaps up arm extended with the ball going for a perfect dunk.
And then bangs his head into a ceiling.
We fade to black with McDavid lying on the court, and the least thing we hear is an explosions of "F$$Ks"
Coming to Sportsnet soon, followed by a different type of documentary
Traded - "I promised Connor I wouldn't do this" The Leon Draisaitl story.

The lack of respect that oilers fans, players, and media give their opponents is quite baffling. If they lose it’s not because they got outplayed, but because the bounces didn’t go their way. I had the “pleasure” of watching game 1/2 with oil fans and they talk like the outcome of this series is a foregone conclusion. Even when the Flames won the conference I always gave respect to the opponents because as we all know anything can happen in playoffs.
I honestly don’t know what is in the water in that city.
I hope they get humbled big time by LA
That's exactly how Canucks fans acted in 2004 during the Calgary series.
People mentioned that the Kings has series lead over the Oilers 2 times and let them came back and won the series, what they failed to mention though, two years ago, Oilers lost in the 3rd round, last year they lost in the second. So, as the trend goes, this year they'll lose in the first round.

Oh no. Next year they will be in the lottery balls with us
If I'm an Oiler fan I'm on an emotional razor's edge.
The Oilers have become the same old Oilers, they look bad in 5v5 situations, their goaltending looks shaky, their defensive zone coverage has really slipped in the first two games of this series.
Its team pp all over again. If the Kings had gotten half way unshakey goaltending this series could be 2-0 for the Kings, and we could be talking about a Miracle on Manchester V2.0 possibility here.
This is probably the best hope for the Oiler fans for a Stanley Cup. The window probably slams 3/4 of the way shut if they don't win it all this year. Going into next year they have 13 players under contract with about 10 million in cap space.
After years of Holland and Bobby Burger their farm team and prospect depth is pretty much barren, there's no real help coming from there.
Next year that window slams shut, if they don't win a cup or get to the finals can we really believe that resting b$tch face Draisatl is going to resing there, and if he does, the Oilers probably can't afford what will likely be a 5 million dollar + raise.
Hey, I still don't think that the Kings are going to beat the Oilers, but if that's a sign of optimism for Oiler fans its misguided, its equivalent to me bragging that I punched out a baby.
But, the worst thing you can do is give an underdog hope, and if the Kings can avoid the penalty box or figure out a way to limit the Oilers when they're on the pp, the Oilers might start to feel some doubt, and I don't think McDavid with his "lets go" style of shoulder tapping leadership is all that great.
Lets go Kings.

Didn't the last negotiation with Crysaddle go bad for a long time, until they finally got the deal done.
I wonder if he wants to recoup some of the money as he as outperformed his current deal by a big margin. I think his ask would be 14 maybe higher. Matthews just got 13.5.

I wondered if this was an issue with Lindholm as well (far more than fantasies about how he was mad that guys like Huberdeau got more).
Of course, players don't equally go in and say "I underperformed, please pay me less". Though maybe management does.

Could be. Interesting to compare it though.
After a disaster of a rookie season, he was breaking out and had a big playoff. Questions if he is a winger or center.
Lindholm wasn't scoring much, but was consistent in that 40 point range in his time with Carolina. He was also drafted to play center and was put on the wing when he finally popped.
