The Yzerman Olympic one talking about Lowe was awesome.

Maybe they all suck except Oilers related ones.

Agreed, for him to suggest that says to me that the work environment is very toxic.

Let's just put it this way:

54.5% (BUF,FLA,CGY) that it's a result we'll like.

45.5% chance people are gonna kick their TVs through their living room windows.

Meh. Honestly, the 5th pick isn't that big a downgrade on the 4th. For all you know the guy you wanted 4th will be available 5th. The only reason to kick anything is if a team you hate moves up. So...

Combined odds of EDM-VAN-TOR winning 1st overall: 24%.

I'd slot TOR winning near the top too. That would make me puke. We'd hear about it endlessly.

* because a NJ win equals a re-draw.

I still don't get why should we always find a negative in something. If it happens it happens, I don't see it as such a big deal. Do you think that if Edm drafts Ekblad it will make them into a contender? They will just find a way to ruin yet another prospect, that will leave as soon as he is a UFA.

Lets worry about who we draft rather than what shoulda/woulda/coulda...

That being said lets win that lottery!

That obviously depends on how you see the draft.

I personally like Dal Colle much better than Draisatl so having that 4th is important to me.

As well having the 4th pick gives you the chance to take advantage of a team passing on one of the big 3.

I think there is a big advantage to 4 over 5 in this draft.

This right here. I seriously see Edmonton taking Draisaitl if they miss out on Ekblad, leaving one of the Sams (likely Bennett) to the 4th pick.

You could say the same about Shanahan in Toronto then.

or Murray Edwards (and Harley Hotchkiss) in Calgary etc

I'm starting to think the Oliers may not be as enamoured with Draisaitl as everyone seems to think. It has been beaten to death how much they love Leon and much he loves them. I'm starting to wonder if there isn't some gamesmanship going on with Edmonton.

I don't think MacT is smart enough to play those games.

I still think they take Bennett or Ekblad over him but it does seem like a possibility that they do like him that much.

^I am not worried about Edmonton, they are going to get a good player no matter what. It may not be a popular sentiment but i would rather Edmonton win then a team below us us winning it. I'll say they are my 4th favorite outcome after Calgary-Buffalo-Florida.

Agreed, it would suck to see them get Ekblad but I'd rather them take him and leave us at 4 than move down to 5th.

At the end of the day, I am worried about the Flames and what they do, and could care less about the Oilers. Them not winning is nothing but a bonus for me.

Not to worry, getting more and more difficult to separate sarcasm from reality these days

Plus, the Oilers becoming the first team in history to get FOUR 1st overall picks - and still suck! - would be epic!
