It is Malta, so even fielding a slightly puzzling lineup they should roll.

Sportsnet World has a pile of games. I don't know how many people want to see these games, but I guess if you are super interested they're on TV.

Lewandowski scores an amazing hat trick goal just 50 min into the game and then Glik puts it in his own net with a header back to the goalie.

Wow. The stupidest thing I've ever seen.

Almost choked as usual but pulled it out 3-2.

Lewandowski is a beast (hate the couple dbag plays he made today though).

Iceland!! Shine on you crazy bastards! BOOM!

2-0 over Turkey in the 62nd, hopefully they can hold on to that.

And Wales drop points.

Macedonia led Italy with 15 minutes left in the 90, but a couple late goals save Italy.

Wayne Rooney has been dropped for England’s World Cup qualifier away to Slovenia tomorrow night, Telegraph Sport understands.

The captain has been under intense scrutiny following a series of disappointing performances with his place in midfield set to be taken by Eric Dier.

The decision was made after training at Tottenham Hotspur’s Enfield training ground on Monday with Rooney being informed.

Although interim manager Gareth Southgate confirmed that Rooney would remain as captain when he took the job he has now decided to act after just one game.

Southgate has – at least – three more matches in charge and no-one can accuse him of not making a brave decision. He becomes the first England manager to leave out Rooney for such a crucial competitive match.

It is all the more remarkable given Southgate is a caretaker with relatively little experience but he appears determined to make his mark.
good call obviously. Good on Southgate, didn't think he'd have the balls.

Rooney's wife is fighting with Twitter trolls today. At least a Rooney is showing some fight.

Benteke with the fastest WC qualifying goal in history.
Beats the previous record of 8.3 seconds in a game where England had to beat San Marino by at least 7 to stand a chance of qualifying.

If he leaves at the end of the year but has left behind the legacy for this team that the most famous player is dropable then, and sadly this isnt a joke, he's one of the top 3 English managers in the last 50 years

I am hoping its one of those things that is just easier to do after the first time its done

Well....thats not gone well for the Irish. Their instructions were probably 'keep it close for the first ~20 minutes.'

Its not even 20 minutes in and its 2-0 Germany.
