Where do you buy coffee?

For a not too expensive machine the Bonavita BV1900 is the only way to go. Best cup of drip coffee you'll get IMO.

Hamilton Beach 1 cup brewer.
I'm in the same boat, only one in my house that drinks coffee, so a 1 cup brewer was the way to go.

If it weren't $275 and had a timer I'd agree. Mine has 2 sets of timers, one for weekdays, one for weekend. Invaluable. Better than an alarm clock, really. The machine fires up, my kitty hears it, comes to my door and starts meowing, then I get up.

Crap that's crazy expensive, it's only 130 here. I don't mind the lack of a timer, it's a single button operation and takes maybe 5-10 minutes to brew a pot. The heating element is exemplary and the pre soak option really makes a nice cup.

Ya, I seriously considered it. I would have rigged up an external timer if the price was better. I paid $90 for my Krupps. Save the big expenditures for the espresso.

While not perfect, I feel it does a pretty good job for a $50 grinder. If it dies in 6 months I'll spring for something more expensive. I quite like it as not only can you select the grind you want (anything from French Press to Espresso) it also has a dial on it for the number of cups you intend to brew. This would need to be adjusted based on your grind though.

The biggest flaw is the lid. It has a little hole by the flap where your thumb goes that hot steam can escape through, and when near empty, it flops open when pouring. I fixed this by stuffing a small piece of rubber under it. It is also tough to fill the machine using the carafe, so I use my kitchen sprayer hose, as there is a water gauge. German design flaws! Honestly it is not the perfect machine but makes good coffee.

Your grinder is OK, my friend has had the same one about 5 years and I don't think he has had an issue.

Ya the grinder is OK. My only real beef is it's a bit messy to use. The coffee gets fired into the holder at an angle and tends to build up on the sides. Just have to remember to remove the cover over the sink.

I have a Baratza Encore to grind and use a Bialetti Moka for the coffee. For camping, I have a Hario hand grinder, and an Aeropress. I usually get Crowsnest coffee, or if something looks interesting in the grocery store. I got some coffee from Eight Ounce supply which was awesome. It was pricey, but I was buying the Baratza so he gave me a deal.

Not sure what they have in store, I ordered it online, but it was a few years ago. You almost have to read a ton of reviews to find a good model for the current year, I have no idea if there new ones are good or flawed. It doesn't really look like that one is available anymore. Or buy from somewhere you can return it to, like Costco!

Ya, that grinder does have a mess issue, but if it makes you feel any better, most do.

Find a bed bath and beyond coupon and get it from there. Bought one last fall for about half that price. Doesn't solve the timers problem though.
