Oh No Okposo, Say it Aint So

The Jackets and Penguins hooked up late Sunday night for a deal. Heading to the Jackets is sim superstar David Krejci. Krejci will allow Matt Duchene to move to the wing where he has been more successful. This is how the deal looks:

To Pittsburgh:
Kyle Okposo
Conditional 2013 1st
2013 2nd(phi)

To Columbus:
David Krejci

We like Okposo but with all the young talent in NYI we are not sure where he fits into their plan. He is a bit of a late bloomer and not as good in the sim as Krejci. We are really hoping Krejci can find his sim magic once again in 2012-13 after a dominating season in the CPHL but won't have to rely on him being the #1. We have Big Joe Thornton in the mix and we think the two of them will make a great combination.

Well we have Stamkos, Datsyuk, Desharnais, and Eller as our 4 centers. We wanted to add a good young winger with solid upside who would be a good fit on our 3rd line and save us some cap space. Adding a 1st and a 2nd with Okposo was enough for us to pull the trigger. Our top 9 is pretty set now:

Kovalchuk-Datsyuk-Kane
Franzen-Stamkos-EKane/Pacioretty
Okposo-Desharnais-EKane/Pacioretty

We need a couple depth wingers via free agency and the Pens are ready to rock.
