Seems like a stupid question to have to ask in a city as big as Calgary, but I can't find anywhere to buy a decent pair of Inline Skates! Sportchek and Sportmart both only carry low end stuff and I want to be able to try on before I buy, thus my not wanting to buy online. I've tried to google search and have found nothing, apparently there used to be a place called "Speed Skate Cellar" and they carried good stuff, but they're now out of business.
So...anyone know of any small/speciality shops in the city that might have some high end performance/race inline skates? I am simply floored a place like Sportchek wouldn't have a couple of models in stores above the $250 price point, but I digress. Any help would be appreciated.

I have been looking for years for a high end speciality shop in Calgary. Sportcheck is really the only place to buy "decent" inline skates. Your best best is to buy online. www.inlineskates.net is a pretty decent website to purchase from.

I've checked both Tuxedo and Adrenaline's websites and both seem to only carry hockey rollerblades.

And thanks to JS and Hockey for the online suggestions, some great prices on a couple of those sites! My big issue is, having bought a truck load of skates and inlines in my life I know ever brand fits differently (CCM skates, for example, do not fit my feet properly, no matter the size or model), and I am hoping to purchase a particular brand I've never worn before which is why I would really like to try a pair on before dropping $350+.

Hey, don't knock it until you try it. I do alot of cardio that includes swimming and running and I can tell you that rollerblading kicks my butt the most.

Kipperfan, do you by chance frequent the Blue Oyster bar?
Yes, I am very gay, mostly because I rollerblade, or perhaps vice versa...I don't remember anymore. Where the blading ended and fudge packing began? That's anyone's guess. Its just a blurry haze of sweatbands, short shorts, those old yellow walkman headphones.....and penis.
