The lack of QB depth was the major cause of struggling offences last year; week 1 didn't do anything to help the cause. For Eskimo fans, hopefully just a sprain for Reilly; Matt Nichols wasn't exactly moving the offence once he got into the game.
Going back to the Fort Mac game -- I wonder how much revenue the Argos lost at the end of the day. Between the lack of tickets sold (based on attendance), and the absence of any season ticket revenue for that game, it couldn't have been pretty.

The Alouettes have QB Jonathan Crompton (shoulder) on the 6-game injured list. #Alouettes #CFL

Geez, two years in a row the CFL is plagued by injuries to marquee QBs. While on the surface this may help the Stamps, it really hurts the league as it needs its best players on the field.

Wow. 10-12 weeks is bad, but it could have even been worse for Reilly. At least he has a chance of playing against this year.
Unfortunately, I don't see Nichols keeping this team at 0.500 -- how long until third stringer Jordan Lynch gets a look?

with 1st string QBs out in Edm, BC and Sask Stamps should have a good lead on most teams half way through this campaign. Problem is if any come back they will be fresh...and sometimes thats enough to get a team rolling at just the right time.

What an interesting start to the season, Paul McCallum has signed with the Riders.

I can't believe the Argos didn't go after him since their kicker/punter Swayzse Waters is injured. Not sure who'll do the kicking duties for them next game.

Definitely an upgrade on Milo. Good signing, but finding a competent kicker is going to need to be a priority for next year

Down goes another QB. Drew Willy had to be helped off the field.

Just turned on the TV and checked the game. After 1st half Winnipeg is getting killed by Hamilton and I heard QB Drew Willy is done for tonight. What is going on with all these QB going down? 2nd week and that's 5 now? Wow!

I wonder if all the rules to protect QBs are actually doing them a disservice as they aren't protecting themselves as much in the pocket. Hanging in there to make a play a split second longer. I'm not sure that's actually the case, but something to think about

Great that Travis Lulay played the whole game injured-free. Ottawa is now 2-0 early in the season. They won the total of 2 games last season so that's pretty good. I guess the RedBlacks organization should send Calgary Stampeders a thank you gift for having to fill up their rosters with mostly ex-Stampeders. Brad Sinopli, Maurice Price, Jon Gott, Malik Jackson, Jock Sanders, and others. Even their QB Henry Burris used to play for Stamps and of course their head coach Rick Campbell. Anyways i am glad Ottawa won and doing well. I guess they are my team in the East even though Nik Lewis, one of my favorite is playing for Montreal.

So this is what Stamps fan feel like. Having a competent backup QB and a kicker that can actually kick straight. A lot of work still to do and that defence is still pretty porous. Baby steps
