But Trump doesn’t just hope that Flynn will beat the rap. Several sources close to Flynn and to the administration tell The Daily Beast that Trump has expressed his hopes that a resolution of the FBI’s investigation in Flynn’s favor might allow Flynn to rejoin the White House in some capacity—a scenario some of Trump’s closest advisers in and outside the West Wing have assured him absolutely should not happen.
Those sources said Trump didn’t believe Flynn should be under investigation in the first place.
“Trump feels really, really, really, bad about firing him, and he genuinely thinks if the investigation is over Flynn can come back,” said one White House official.
One former FBI official and a second government official said Trump thought he owed Flynn for how things ended up and was determined to clear Flynn’s name and bring him back to the White House.

I don't know if Flynn has dirt on Trump, but I do know that Trump believes Flynn will be 100% loyal to him and that even if Flynn is a traitor to America, he'll be a lapdog for Trump and that's what Trump values the most.

This doesn't seem right to me, aren't the different investigations after different things? The Justice Dept looks at it from a criminal point of view, but the other investigations look at events from other points of view, if things need to happen with regards to policy, or politically... They're what the public can see, Mueller's investigation will be completely private (assuming no leaks). The FBI investigation isn't going to create standards of cyber security, or change campaign laws.
Robert Mueller, the newly appointed special counsel in the Russia probe, will likely ask the multiple congressional investigations to curtail their public hearings in order to proceed with his own investigation, according to a Thursday New York Times report.
Five different Senate and House committees also have ongoing investigations into whether Russia interfered in the presidential election and possibly colluded with Trump campaign aides.

The author of President Donald Trump's controversial travel ban, which targeted people from six-majority Muslim countries, is the principal speechwriter for the President's speech on Islam in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
Stephen Miller, Trump's senior adviser for policy and speechwriter, is the principal aide in charge of writing both the speech on Islam and Trump's later speech on the future of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, a White House official told CNN.
Both are topics Miller has spoken out against throughout his career on Capitol Hill and in the White House.
The official said the speech has been put together through a collaborative process inside the White House, but that Miller was the primary author.
The speech, which will be given in front of about 50 Muslims leaders, could be a flashpoint in Trump's eight-day, five country trip. Trump has long derided Islam, proposed banning all Muslim immigration into the United States during the campaign and is expected to use the term "radical Islamic terrorism" throughout the speech in Saudi Arabia, the cradle of the 1.6 billion-member religion.

During his time at Duke University, Miller wrote extensively for the school's newspaper, including one article in which he wrote: "Islamic terrorists ... have declared a death sentence on every man, woman and child living in this country."

GOP, again, is more concerned about who leaked rather than what leaked. This is following leaked audio to Washington Post where high level GOP leadership were recorded discussing Trump having taken money from Russia. Paul Ryan cuts off discussion by saying “No leaks, alright?” Ryan said. “This is how we know we’re a real family here. ... What’s said in the family stays in the family.” They've apparently hunted down who the culprit of the most recent leaks must be.
These guys are sweating bullets and trying to come up with something to save their own necks. Hopefully they all sequel on each other when more gets released.
