Helmet was still wet. Shoes were, too, had to grab my old pair. Body still spent. Pretty slow even with a tailwind to push me in.

After the ride home yesterday I wiped down and dried off my rain jacket, pants, and boot covers. Put the helmet and gloves over the air registers and turned the furnace fan on. Everything nice and dry this morning.

Wet shoes and shorts this morning. Nice strong tailwind, 6 trophies on the ride in. Not bad considering what I went through climbing Coach Hill yesterday.

Last night leaving work, when I was exiting the building via the loading dock, the wind not only almost blew me into a concrete wall, it was creating this weird updraft from blowing down the loading dock, and lift my helmet completely off my head, only my chin strap kept it from taking off and flying away. Ultimately I couldn't make it up the loading dock because the wind was so strong I couldn't breathe.

This morning sucked. I was so jealous of everyone heading east. My commute was doubled.

Working from downtown today so that is it for me this week likely. Would really like to get a complete 5 day commute in, but for the next few weeks I all need to be downtown at some point unfortunately.

Props to everyone who made it through the week! That was a tough one!

I was slower going home last night than I was Wednesday. The wind was brutal. But at least I was dry.

Legs are feeling it today thanks to all the wind of the past few days. So much nicer today though with minimal wind. Dropping the new bike off a Ridley's for a quick tune up after breaking it in, have put 718km on it since April.

I found it a little cool this morning, but the wind was normal.

I bought a pair of those arm warmers a few weeks ago and wore them for the first time today, and I really found them nice under a light windbreaker. LEss bulk to haul home this evening.

I was trying for the Distance Challenge badge on Strava this month but it looks like I'm going to come up short. 1250km in a month is tougher than I thought it'd be. 40+km per day. You can't take any days off or you fall behind quickly. I still have 300+km to do for the rest of the month.

Weekend is nice, knock of a few big ones and you can do it. I'm choked that I've done exactly 2 non commute rides this year. I really want to crank out a 100+ km ride but my damn life is too busy at the moment.

I'm attending a conference on Saturday so it's likely a write-off for riding. I've gotta do 50-60km per day to get it done. If I'm feeling inspired for a long ride I'll see what I can do on Sunday to make up for lost time.

I've missed 2 days this month for riding and didn't always make the 40km/day.

We should try to get a 100km CP ride organized to get everyone a Strava Fondo badge for a month.

Is it common to break wheel spokes? I'll be 40 this August and up until my current bike (GT Aggressor 1.0) I've never had this happen. I only bike on paved roads and have switched my tires to a smoother grip for less rolling resistance. I've owned the bike for 4 years and just broke my second spoke while out for a leisurely ride around the neighborhood tonight.

^ that is not common.....where are the spokes breaking.

One typical reason for this is uneven spoke tension
