Maybe I should have brought my winter bike instead?

Getting geared up to head home now, catch you all on the flip side, and if this is to be my last post forever...Zeppelin Rules!

That was savage. I'll take -20 any day over this garbage. The wind!

I felt a bit wistful this morning as I walked into work, watching all of the cyclists heading past me. Now, I'm not so wistful - I really hate biking into the wind, so I'm just as happy I left the bike at home. I think if I lived/worked outside the free fare zone or if I saved more time cycling vs. walking, I'd be more hard core on the cycling bit.

That sucked. Really a toss up if the bus would have sucked more or less.

If the wind is straight out of the west in the river valley, I may end up missing my turn and flying right into the zoo.

If the wind is coming out of the north after I head out of the river valley, I may have both my fastest and slowest segments of the year in one ride. Days like this I wish I strava-ed

Really hope everyone had gloves. The wind is brutal on the hands.

Yeah definitely prefer riding in -20c over that.

I came over the hill at st. George's heading west and I thought the wind was going to push me backwards.

Just got the feeling back in my thumbs. 50 minutes in that ####. My chest, legs and arms are all still red. Shoe covers kept my feet warm, but not dry. Rain and wind suck

So glad I brought the balaclava for the ride home. Served a dual purpose for heat and a layer to shield my face from that rain/sleet mix just nailing you savagely while riding westbound. Stayed pretty warm, did somewhat rainproof mitts over my bike gloves and only started to feel a chill in them around the twenty minute mark.

Crazy. You guys are getting the remnants of the wind storm that clobbered BC last night. I don't remember there being much forewarning given the size of this system. It's like a massive, mild hurricane crawling across western Canada. My gf is stuck at Edmonton airport right now, flights all delayed or cancelled.

Ride safe!

I put grocery bags over my shoes to keep my feet dry. Worked pretty well!

As fate would have it I worked from home today, so I had no choice about biking or not this morning.

You guys that rode today are badass and for that I salute you

I went to work this morning in shorts and a dress shirt. then looked out the window and thought that I better be sprinting my bike back home the short way...

Hope tomorrow is better.

Way better this morning, but that north wind was nice and strong. Took an alternate route to try and sidestep it as much as possible.
