I am just saying that insinuating that the Sedins are gay is pretty bad.

Nothing that the LGBTQ community has ever done could deserve comparison to the Sedins.

Are you suggesting that using Swedish National Diving Team as an appropriate comparison to something inferior is more politically correct?

The whole absurdity of this thread is right there, in these "tender flower"-made labels that can either be taken in their insane exaggerations and presumptive conclusions leading to accusations or can simply be laughed off and ignored. I suggest the latter is much more sensible and desirable than the former. Political correctness in the age of social media dictatorhip is slowly killing all aspects of a lively and interesting conversation. If a Calgary Flames fan wants to call the hated opponent team forwards 'the Sedin Sisters", it's just that - an innocent and harmless trash talk. Move on.

They should be on the diving team because they are good divers. And there is a men's diving team An attitude of using a gender to insult someone is not harmless. The amount of harm is small but it is part a larger problem.

Again what do you lose by not calling them Sisters, use a different insult and like you said move on.

Try publicly expressing that you aren't attracted to fat people. In our politically correct world, where social media is judge, jury, and executioner, you will catch hell for it.

I try and avoid things people cannot change about themselves. Sexual orientation, race, gender (debatable given technology these days, but still counts). Anything else, fair game.

It took you a while to come with something out of the plenty. What do you mean by "ugly"? Are you judging people's real virtues by their appearance? Or are you suggesting that if someone is "unattractive" by your Shallow Hal's sexual standards, they are no good? Or is it Sedin's hair colour?

You can't win this game no matter how hard you try. Insults are meant to insult and offend; therefore, someone somewhere will be offended by something in them. Sports game entertainment is rooted into one group of people hating another for no reason other than allegiance to the team they've chosen to cheer for. It is ultimately dumb, senseless and illogical but the fans love it anyway for the kick of that wonderful winning feeling once in a while. Insults and trash talk are a part of the process that's been invented and cultivated by the show producers since Roman gladiator fights.
