I could see the Flames taking the Halifax goaltender with the Pittsburgh pick.

By the way, if anyone finds any mock drafts that are relatively recent and that I missed, post a link and I'll add it to the OP.

I will take the Hockey Writers out of all of those. I want nothing to do with a goalie picked in the 1st, especially one that played behind a very stacked Halifax team.

An all offense team... he didn't have much help in the back end.

He didn't need it, his team always had the puck. Regardless, I am not a fan of goalie 1st rnd selections. See Brent Krahn, Leland Irving.

Hockey Writer's is awesome, I agree... Tobie Petersen's looks good as well... I'd be pumped with either of those

Can someone explain the purpose of mock drafts? I know they became huge with NFL followers a while ago and now are popular in all sports, but I just don't get them.
I'm not trying to be a jerk, but why do people care who random writers pick? I don't see how this adds any insight into the process, but maybe I'm missing something...

Kills the whole gaping chasm of time between your team missing the playoffs and draft day?

Yeah, I'd quit life for a bit if Feaster et al took Nurse, Fucale and McCoshen with our first rounders.

My ideal draft would be: Barkov/Pulock/Compher. Most likely result would be: Monahan/Morrissey/Zykov

Me too! That'd be a very very solid foundation for the future.

Apparently they have moved Morin up to 19th instead of 29 and think Rychel will now drop to the Pens pick.
I would definitely go for Morin with the Blues pick, especially over a goalie.

I wouldn't be upset if we took Nurse. He wouldn't be ready for a couple of years but a top defenceman would be fine with me. McCoshen looks interesting as well but yeah, we don't need another goalie.
