Dallas Stars assign Brent Krahn to Las Vegas Wranglers

Likely a conditioning stint until he's assigned to an AHL team, which I think is Dallas' plan.

The news is significant moreso because perhaps it indicates Kevin Lalande is further from returning from injury than hoped.

Many of us in QC are of the mind that Lalande won't be the one sent down when he's healthy. It will be Irving.

Yeah, I think that's possible. It all boils down to Lalande's timetable for the goalie assignments to get sorted out.

Lalande certainly has nothing left to prove in the ECHL, and if he ends up there let's hope it's a short term thing.

I rather see Lelande head to LV to get back into the swing of things. Bringing a Injured goalie back into the fire would see us results worse that of Irvings.

If he plays well in Vegas then bring him up and send Irving down.

don't you think with keetley as the #1, they could ease lalande in here in the qc as well?

(just asking for your opinion. i don't really lean either way)

Because he would get direct ice time in vegas. Plus he would lose all his money in the casino and play harder to get back to the quad city to make the big bucks.

Here's what was in today's QC Timesregarding this....

Quote:
Brent Krahn, star-crossed and injury-cursed last year with the Flames, has been assigned to Las Vegas by the Dallas Stars, who signed him in the offseason after Calgary said farewell. Vegas, of course, is the Flames ECHL affiliate. Krahn, a first-round draft pick in 2000, played there as a professional rookie in 2003-2004.
Lalande is off of crutches now, but I didn't get a chance last night to ask him how long til he's back.... I agree with DS that Irving will be the guy who goes to Vegas long term. Lalande might need a "tuning" weekend there, but Irving needs serious work. And Keets obviously needs a break.

Pretty much sums up poor Krahn's career right there.

What were the injuries to him and Baldwin? Somewhere along the line I missed it and wasn't sure what the injuries were to either of them. Thanks.

Krahn loses his debut performance in Vegas.

Looks like the Wranglers are in the same predicament we are!
