Wouldn't Tampa keep Drouin over Johnson? He is younger and Johnson seems to be getting hurt for the past few years.

Matter of value. Trading Drouin instead of Johnson means you can get an even higher quality piece coming back.

Perhaps there are still sour grapes based off the holdout/trade request?
At least Yzerman will be able to get good value for Drouin this summer

Speaking of Tampa...
Nikita Kucherov with harsh words for Lightning
http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/lightn...htning/2321702
And some guys overstayed in team. They’ve got their money and stopped working. They knew there’s no competition for their positions and organization is not going to take someone else.
They played not really well this year – you can see it in their stats and way of play. When we played together and I made a pass, they even were not expecting this. That’s why this season was hard to me despite good stats.

If Drouin is actually looking for a contact at $6M+ with term, he could be tough to move.

People still think McDavid won't be signed before July 1, 2018???

I think teams would do it if they had the cap space. Drouin is a skilled player that is 22 and getting better.

Scary to think how good the Lightning would be going forward anchored by a 26 year old Hedman and 22 year old Jones.

Crazy to hear that from a Russian, but I like it! If his teammates are sitting on their fat salary, then they deserve to be called out. This kid cares. Damn wish they drafted him as well.
Wouldn't mind someone on the Flames calling out Brouwer.

I wouldn't say its crazy. They aren't brainwashed like Canadian/American hockey players and do speak their minds from time to time.
I wish more guys would speak with this sort of openness.

Is kucherov referring to Killorn?
They have some messed up chemistry on that team.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Kucherov

Gaudreau-Monahan-Kucherov would be crazy. In a perfect world, we would have Gaudreau and Kucherov from that draft, while maybe Baertschi and Granlund could play like they did in Vancouver, and we would have a deep forward corps. We'd still have Monahan, Backlund, Frolik, Tkachuk, Bennett, Ferland and Versteeg. Oh and Brouwer!
