So sorry to hear this FurnaceFace. She's a beauty. I have a black cat too, she looks very similar. You gave her a great life and she was loved, she will always be remembered.

Thank you for the wonderful life you gave her. Did you know that the least adopted animals are black ones? So even more so - kudos for adopting an unadoptable.

Don't know if I can handle any more of this. We just got her 3 weeks ago. Rosie is gone, now. Stopped eating, her liver was shot and now they're worried she had leukemia, which is apparently catching, so we have to have our other girl checked as well.
She burned bright and fast, what a cutie. She cuddled and would lick your fingers when you scratched her chin. Even my Dad liked her and he hates cats.

Last Tuesday evening my cat was not feeling her usual bright self. I took her to Fish Creek 24hr. As she was elderly they opted to hospitalize her and run tests. On Thursday I was told she had cancer of the stomach and pancreas. I was told that as long as she continued to eat she may have a few months left. I brought her home that night. Last night when I got home from work it became apparent that she had gone downhill rapidly. Thank you Fish Creek for your care and kindness and expertise at such a difficult time and also to Pet Heaven for coming out immediately to collect my dear old girl.
Thank you Sweetie Pie. We may have only had you for nearly 5 short years but you brought so much gentleness and love into our lives. One of a kind.

If any are interested in Sweetie Pie's history. This is what we were told. She was abandoned at Cottonwood Golf Course as an adult cat. She was there 12 years as a fully outdoor cat and active mouser. As she got older and made a nuisance by begging for food on the patio it was decided she had to go. Fortunately she was sent to Heaven Can Wait where I first saw her. I knew she had to come home with me as she was not coping with the multiple cat living set up there. I finally wore my husband down and home she came. I guess she must have been 18 years old at the end. She was remarkable in how gentle she was - how loving. I will miss her more than words can say.

18 for a cat that spent 12 of those years outside is pretty impressive. Equally impressive is you took for taking in an older cat where many wouldn't. You gave her 5 great years when she most needed it.
