It'll be a slower event in terms of amount of players invited and perhaps the quality overall, but that is to be expected. With only 5 higher quality forwards (Phillips, Eat Bread, Foo, Poirier, and Dube), 4 quality D-men (Andersson, Kylington, Valimaki and Fox) and Parsons, it will allow more guys to "surprise".

Team Conroy is much better; Parsons, Fox, Kylington, Valimaki, Dube, Poirier, Tuulola are the highlights on that side.

Andersson, Healey, Ruzicka, Phillips, Mangiapane, Foo on the Gelinas team.

Wasn't expecting to see Poirier there -- that's a good sign.

Hope Foo is able to separate himself from some of the other prospects; will be interesting to see how Valimaki compares to the likes of Andersson, Kylington, and Fox.

Interesting.
Concerning. He had a terrific season...

Spencer Foo got his college jersey # 15 .. a low number meaning by default he has made the opening day roster ... just like when Tkachuk was given # 19 right off the bat beginning of his camp

Corban Knight was given #10 too remember. Doesn't necessarily mean he's on the team.

Some scouting reports

Tyler Busch - https://www.landgrantholyland.com/20...le-tyler-busch
Quote:
Playing Style: While he was playing for the Lloydminster Bobcats Midget AAA team of the AMHL, Busch played the role of pest and playmaker simultaneously. In his last season in Lloydminster, Busch had 16 assists in 33 games while also racking up 74 penalty minutes. The 16 assists were a decent number as he's still developing. He's skinny now at 174 lbs., a year after that magical PIM fueled year.
Samuel Dove-McFalls - http://bsndenver.com/nhl-draft-prosp...outing-report/
Quote:
Dove-McFalls is not a flashy player, but he is reliable and has good hockey sense. He doesn’t make many egregious errors and has the ability to generate turnovers, odd-man rushes, and breakaways due to his vision and patience. Although he’s been playing wing for Saint John, he takes most face offs when he’s on the ice, and he’s excellent at them. He often wins them cleanly to give his team the chance to set up in the offensive zone or transition from defense. He works hard, takes hits, and passes well. Dove-McFalls is a staple on the Sea Dogs’s penalty kill.
Glenn Gawdin - http://www.dobberprospects.com/glenn-gawdin/
Quote:
January 2016 – The versatile and hard-working centerman is playing in the WHL for the Current Swift Broncos. He was drafted last summer in the fourth round, but his biggest value to the Blues appears to be his balanced game, which may not translate to significant fantasy value. The offensive skill is there, but some speculate the Blues will try to develop his defensive play rather than creating a scoring weapon. Gawdin has a good shot with a quick release, and has shown the ability to create scoring chances with a savvy pass.
Sebastian Vidmar - http://lastwordonhockey.com/2017/03/...agents-part-4/
Quote:
Vecchione’s Swedish linemate put up 14 goals and 38 points in 31 games with the Dutchmen. Vidmar is a playmaker off the wing. He is very poised with the puck and has good stickhandling ability. He sees the ice well, and seems to have the ability to slow the play down and make passes to his teammates. His skating was never his strong suit, but Vidmar has really improved this season, to the point where it is now above average. He works well with the give and go, finding open ice to take the puck back from a teammate and fire a one-timer into the back of the net.
Ben Hawerchuk - http://puckprose.com/2016/03/06/barr...hl-bloodlines/
Quote:
At 5’10 157lbs, Ben still needs to add some more weight, and strength to his undersized frame. A product of the GTHL (Toronto Titans AAA), he joined Barrie in 2014-15, appearing in 59 games, posting nine points playing limited ice-time.

His point totals and ice-time have increased in 2015-16, but he’s certainly not getting that coach/son favoritism you often find immersed in hockey politics.
Brad Morrison - http://thehockeywriters.com/ny-rangers-prospects-2017/
Quote:
Scouts describe him “as a forward who plays with a jump in his step with speed and skill.” Brad also will stick up for his teammates and is willing to drop the gloves. It is something the Rangers will need going forward. Overall, Morrison had a down year and will be looking to bounce-back next year. It will take time before he makes the NHL.
will look for more later...

I've followed Nick Wolff for a few seasons. The elite prospects listing is wrong I think. He's at least 6'4" (or was in 2014, his draft year).

He had a very impressive freshman year this past season with Frozen Four Minn-Duluth squad. When they lost a key senior defenseman before the playoffs, Wolff stepped up on regular PK1 and top 4 ice time.

He's big, nasty and tough. Really improving.

His Coach, Sandelin:

Quote:
"He competes hard every shift," Sandelin said. "He practices how he plays. Some guys don't like it during practice, but that's what he has to do to make sure he's ready, and he's done that every day. It's made him a better player. It's made the players on our team better."

Sandelin said he likes that Wolff has an edge to his game — he's taken 14 minor penalties, but no majors, for 28 minutes.

Wolff also has good hands, Sandelin points out. Those were on display a week ago at the West Regional in Fargo, N.D., when Wolff scored against Ohio State and assisted on another goal against Boston University.
Quote:
Sandelin called the 6-foot-4, 215-pound native of Eagan, Minn., one of the team's top defensemen down the stretch. Wolff was able to rise to the occasion throughout March and April when Soucy was out with a knee injury.

Some scouting reports from his draft year -

Hockeyprospects:
Quote:
Wolff is about as tough as they come when it comes to high school hockey. Nick is built like a tank and enjoys running over opponents whenever possible. He doesn't hesitate to deliver a check, even if it is a little bit questionable. He really plays with little mercy and is a nightmare to be matched up against physically.

Nick's strength also shows in his shot as he has a cannon from the point. He will need to improve his footwork moving forward as he can get beat by speedy forwards who are too quick for him to contain due to a lack of lateral mobility. He can also be forced into making unnecessary mistakes with the puck. Nick is slated to join the University of Minnesota-Duluth in September 2015.
ISS rated him 95th but he obviously wasn't drafted.

Quote:
Wolff is one of the bigger and more physical defenseman playing at the US High School level. Wolff had a very strong Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament and was named a finalist for Minnesota's prestigious Mr. Hockey Award.

He's easily HS hockey's most physical defenseman - he loves to play a rough and tumble brand of hockey. Wolff played on the US Select-18 team last summer and followed up that strong performance with a solid Upper Midwest Elite League season. Wolff played a key role in QB Eagan's PP, and was their top penalty killer and actually was moved up front for the PP (ala Zdeno Chara).
Quote:
ISS Scout P.Forciea: “Will become a top end NCAA player by the time he's 21 and could very well turn into a legitimate NHL player by the end of his college career”
Will have to be a free agent signing in a couple years after he develops more in the NCAA's but it's good to build the loyalty now.

Looks like Fox has bulked up quite a bit from last year.

Looks like Andersson has been keeping up his commitment to staying in shape.

I think he has a real chance at cracking the lineup this year.

Thought I'd chime in with a Cougars perspective.

Morrison - terrible attitude and a very selfish player. I'm really happy the Cougars dealt him with his attitude.

Roupp - Longtime team Captain. Takes a ton of terrible penalities and is as mean as mean. Worry a little bit that he pulls a Seiloff at camp. Loved having him on our junior team, but don't think he will make the jump.
