Funny thing is that if Shinkaruk scores on that breakaway in OT for the heat in the playoffs to eliminate SJ, I think he probably get a little bit more mojo.

I'm not sure it's ever fair to evaluate a deal based on who a pick becomes. Sven for a 2nd was great value at the time given his trade demand and overall career trajectory at that point. Sven has rebounded some, true. But reports were the 2nd was the most offered, and by a lot, which gives you an indication of Sven's value around the league at the time. It was a great return.

If Andersson turns into a 2nd pairing defenseman, so much the better, but that doesn't really impact the fairness of the deal IMO.

Like if we trade Gaudreau for a 7th round pick, and the 7th rounder turns into a #1 D, do we win the deal? Hell no.

I voted Hathaway. Really curious to see what Pribyl is about. I hope he has a good year.

Hathaway is more likely to play in NHL games this season than Shinkaruk, imo.

He gets the vote.

I voted for Wotherspoon here. I somehow missed Hathaway on the list though.

The more I see of Shinkaruk, the more I am convinced he doesn't have an NHL future. I can accept why lots of people will disagree, but I just don't see it personally.

The next batch after Hathaway, Wotherspoon and Shinkaruk should be interesting. There are some decent long-shots left on this list, and am eager to here the arguments for them.

Shinkaruks opportunity to make the team and stick was last year. The only way he gets NHL time this year is if he dominates in Stockton.

Adam Ollas Mattsson was picked for Sweden's World Junior team in 2015-16 while the #3 and #5 guys on the prospect list got passed over. Not saying he is better than those guys but he probably should be getting a bit more respect at this point of the voting.

I think Wotherspoon has been shoved aside prematurely. I think he's as much in the mix to make the Flames as any of the young blueliners.

Voted for AOM based on potential.

I like Hathaway, but don't think he tops out at more than a 4th liner/energy guy and I don't see a whole of potential out of Shinkaruk either.
