This Flames team seems to defy all the odds...betting they win at least once this year in Anaheim.
Tonight seems like a good night for an exorcism. Why not?

The reason is the Ducks have been a better team.

We also won a playoff game there on April 25th 2006.

Last few years for sure.... but the numbers that Peter Maher refered to are amazing its 9 wins and 22 loses or something like that
There were lots of years where the Flames were the better team.

Bourque cost us a win a couple years ago. 3-0 after 5 minutes, Flames come roaring back to bring it to 4-3 in their favour only for Bourque to take a stupid and completely selfish penalty with 2 minutes left. The Ducks score with a minute and some change to tie it up and win it 5-4 in OT.
The place is cursed.

It's time for this curse to be broken. 4-2 Flames.

This is going to be the wakeup call for the Flames and us (fans). Ducks outshoot the Flames 55-19 and win 8-1

That hasn't stopped them from snagging wins in San Jose and LA in the past..
Or at home vs. Anaheim (where they've fared actually very well against them)

So glad to be free from Bourque. Infuriating player. Two more years on that contract after this season.

I know people like to rip on bourque (I used to as well) but I remember that game and the call on him at the end of the game was a terrible call if I remember it right... Like a total phantom call. I just remember that because I wasn't mad at bourque after that game, I was mad at the refs for how bad a call it was and how that streak could have ended had it not been for the refs making a terrible call at the end of the game.

We should have won 2 years ago if Bork wasn't a total idiot and take a penalty behind the Ducks net with a minute left in the 3rd. How on earth is that guy still in the NHL?
Cost us a playoff spot too.

I remember thinking differently, wondering "Why Bourque? You know they're going to call that!". I think the goat label was well-earned that day.

If I recall correctly it was an absolutely stupid play and very obvious, just kept going after someone with multiple hits. Maybe you're thinking of one of the other games a Bourque penalty cost them the game?

I do remember being frustrated with Borky Bork that day. I think his status as whipping boy was always well earned.

Selanne has always killed us as well. He always breaks his own records against us.
I saw that Backlund has a hand injury. Doesn't bode well...

I'm so excited to finally watch an important game that I might punch a hole in the wall.
TAKE THAT, WALL!

From the Ducks Twitter today about Selanne:
Teemu Selanne has 81 points (38 goals, 43 assists) against the Flames.

The curse will continue.
I will be as happy as long as they work hard and Monahan's line gets their chances.
