Can they send you the whole package of goods without someone coming into your home?

On a separate note outside of the previous convo, if you are planning on changing to LED bulbs and you have dimmers in your house, I highly advise making sure your dimmers are LED compatible. If not you may notice excess buzzing and/or reduced life span of the bulbs/dimmer.

Unsurprising that people's integrity can be bought for fifty bucks.
Sorry there's some people trying to do some good in the world.

It's probably more like a few hundred. And this is being paid for with the money these people already coughed up to the government. They are just getting it back.
If i had a choice to either pay carbon tax or do the same cost in upgrades myself, I'd take option two.

That's a pretty serious "get off your high horse" statement....no?
I mean the dippers are offering it to everyone who signs up (regardless of current needs), and more to the point, it's those peoples freaking money to begin with.
Absolutely nothing wrong with it whatsoever.

The NDP is trying to do some good?
The Socialists took money from yours and everyone elses wallet via the Carbon tax. Now they're giving some of it back to in form of products they purchased with your tax dollars. There is nothing here to feel good about.
Lawrence Garfield (aka Rachel Notley): I love money. I love money more than the things it can buy. There's only one thing I love more than money. You know what that is? OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY.

Think about that for a second when people complain about a Nanny State.
The Government will literally come to your home and change your lightbulbs for you.
Let that sink in.
|
OK its sank in.
The government is giving grants to companies to do light bulb replacements with no additional upfront costs to homeowners.
I'm shaken to the core.

No, because that would save money and be way more efficient. The purpose of this program is to have government paid contractors go to each house and complete the highly technical task of changing lightbulbs

The provincial energy program rep I spoke to didn't know, but I do know Ecofitt is the company doing the work. And on their website they have a few products listed, the thermostat may even be a downgrade for some. Not sure if thats the one they'll be using but if so - count me out. https://www.ecofitt.ca/products/

Integrity? Buddy I pay the same taxes as you and am entitled to the same benefits. I've spent over 2000$+ on technology to make my home more efficient and I get hit with a carbon tax. F that, I want my free bulbs.

I must be missing something but $21 for a 100w lightbulb??? It appears this is singular but that makes no sense. And I hope they're charging some ridiculous cheap price for this.
So odd. It seems to make more sense if people upgraded their old inefficient furnaces to a 95% efficient furnace and give them $1000 off rebate. Or even those led bulb rebates the Ontario government does.
