From what I've watched of Reinhart in the playoffs... He reminds me of David Krejci in a lot of ways. Great hockey IQ, great hands, and strong on the puck.

I still hold some hope that Reinhart, Ekblad or Bennett will drop to us at 4. Draisaitl would be a consolation prize, but one of the other 3 would be ideal.
If the Oilers take the deutsche dangler (!) at 3 I will jump around in celebration for hours.
All it would take for Reinhart to fall to us would be the Panthers taking Ekblad, Sabres liking the look of Bennett more than other other Sam and the Oil taking the big German. That's well within the realms of possibility.

I hate the fact that our pick is so dependent upon what the freakin oilers do. God they suck

It's probably how they felt last year in regards to Monahan.
Life's hard not always picking 1st.

After watching Draisaitl highlights the Flames would be stupid to pass on a skilled center like that.

My sentiments exactly. While I see Reinhart as a very skilled kid, I don't see him able to shield the puck as well as Draisaitl.
They may be both very similar in height, but the extra 30 lbs would make a huge difference in pro play.
Still gunning for this kid.

I think we're going to get an excellent player regardless of who the first 3 picks are. I think we're all terrified about being 4th because we may never pick that high again and we don't want it screwed up. And the fact that the Oilers pick before us...well....

I would have no problem picking Draisaitl if the "big 3" were gone already... as long as I never have to hear him referred to as the "Deutschland Dangler".

Well Kerr is gone now, so we might be ok.
How about Neon Leon?

Him and Monahan would burn the Oilers for years to come

I hope if Edmonton passes over him, he develops an Aaron Rodgers esq chip on his shoulder. Just furious at any team that passed over him.

One Eastern-based hockey-type said Sam Bennett is a driver like Brendan Gallagher except bigger, meaner and better...i'd have time for that!

Now I really want Bennett.
Sven, Monahan, and Bennett will be a good combination.

Yeah, and they'd be saying how they should have picked him, instead of management going for Ehlers or Nylander, another small forward.

David Wolf approves of Draisaitl.
If they play on the same line, does that make them East Berlin and West Berlin?

If our 4th overall pick is Draisaitl and Galiardi walks, let's sign UFA Marcel Goc for the lols of having a Blitzkrieg line. Draisaitl and him can alternate for pivot duty to take the pressure off the kid sometimes and Wolf will beat up whoever goes after Leon.

That line will only be good until early in the 2nd period, and then get dominated the rest of the game.

Maybe we'll see the BMW line (Bouma-McGrattan-Wolf)

You have to think William Nylander's stock is rising... 11 points in 4 games at the U18s so far. He's top 5 on more lists than I realised (ISS for one, FC for another) and he should get a boost from his performance in that tourney.
Shame he's so undersized at 5'10", 179lbs, because we could use a pure offensive wizard on the right side. He is still 17 though (May birthday) and to me he looks the youngest physically of all the prospects I've seen. Could be that he is under-developed and has another couple of inches left to grow. Food for thought...

It'd be a funny WWII reference too if that does happen - and considering Draisaitl's issues with consistency and footspeed (which hopefully Hartley straightens out in a hurry) it's not out of the question they might run into some trouble.
Even so, assuming that Backs-Monahan-Stajan are the three centermen on the NHL club next year, the Blitzkrieg line might actually be a very good 4th line for next year. 4th line minutes to ease the two NHL newbies in - and McGrattan's line has shown they can handle regular shifts when given some confidence.
Marcel Goc
-Defensive two-way centerman with slight offensive upside
-Excellent in the dot
-Hard worker(Yay!)
-Very versatile
-Excellent mentor for Draisaitl, can probably contain Wolf's raging cheapshots
Leon Draisaitl
-Smart with the puck and reads play well
-Big with good puck protection
-Plays a power game
-Hard working but consistency issues
-Good balance between Wolf's rage and Goc's steadiness
David Wolf
-Big enforcing agitator (6'3 220)
-Scoring touch (untested in NHL)
-Orcish temper
-Will stick up for young Leon and old man Goc at the drop of a dime
