Poirier is healthy! Expected to play this weekend
Today he was officially assigned to Adirondack per the AHL transactions page.
May mean he is good to go. Huska said he was a possibility for Saturday's game

Yes! Only two injuries remaining from the start of the season (Backlund and Bennett). Poirier could be the real deal, excited for his season debut!

He has been out a fair bit so they seem to have been taking him slow but I wonder if they moved his return up a week due to all the injuries. That being said he was scheduled to return in November, which is tomorrow, so it could just be his normal return.

Good timing with Ferland and Granlund missing from the team.

Would love to see him lined up opposite of Baertshi. I know Poirier might have some rust on him but with all that talent he's also a spark plug player.

yes, finally! Hope he shakes off the rust quickly, the AHL Flames surely need him after losing Granlund and Ferland
Baertschi-Reinhart-Poirier would make for a great line, I think

The Adirondack Flames have found there 12th forward.
As anticipated earlier today, Emile Poirier was loaned to the AHL team Friday afternoon. The rookie left wing has been rehabbing an off-season shoulder injury.
At Friday's practice, Poirier skated with Bill Arnold and Ken Agostino on an all-rookie line.

Got bigger too, if the team website listed heights and weights are correct - he's now 6'2" and 200 pounds, better suited to play that physical style of his.

Calgary Flames loaned Poirier to Addy since his contract is with the NHL Flames.

It'll probably take him a couple of games to get his feet under him, wouldn't be surprised to see him tear it up after.
His return could be big for a guy like baertschi, if they're on a line it'll really take some of the pressure off.

he was loaned from Calgary.
while the Calgary Flames may have announced Poirier's assignment to Adirondack weeks ago, they could not technically loan him out because he was injured.
this is because of the CBA rules on how injured players can be demoted and how injured players are paid
he is now healthy and can now be put on Adirondack's roster

Came here hoping to see this news. Leaving immensely satisfied.
Of all these exciting prospects in the pipeline Poirier is the one I'm most excited about next to Bennett. Speed, skill, smarts and grit. So glad he's going to be back on track.

Finally! Was a damned bloody shame that he missed big camp this year, as I think he is one of our most exciting prospects now. Incredibly intriguing blend of speed, skill, and physical tenacity.
Hopefully this hasn't set him back very far.

Just in time too, with Granlund, Ferland and Jooris promoted.
Not reasonable to expect much out of him for a few games, but at least he can start the process for his first full pro season. Very excited for this prospect.

Fantastic news! Glad that he could be back relatively soon, and hopefully get to play most of the season (knock on wood).
I have high hopes for this kid and hope he keeps up his progression in the AHL. Two goals in his first game back isn't a bad way to start!

Poirier is a stud. Hope he plays his way onto the Flames this year! Off to a great start anyway.
