Yup had lots of fun. Kid got to meet a master builder which he really enjoyed (and found out about a whole new set of LEGO he wants, great).

Was quite busy, but never really had to wait for much.

Toys'R'Us doesn't have the Sand Crawler so I can't get 30% off that

A handy tip that I recently discovered. Ikea cutlery trays make awesome parts sorters when opening the bags for your next build. Before these I used ziploc containers, until Mrs. Ironhorse got tired of her kitchen being raided constantly.

@Ironhorse: I used to do that too, but once someone tips it over... frustration.

Prior to me abandoning my childhood , I was using plastic utility boxes. (Sewing, fishing, tool box, whatever had the right size slots) Same divider idea, but you can close the lid so the fear of something tipping it over (like a child or cat or stacking trays/boxes) and having to sort and re-separate pieces is reduced greatly. I know it's pricier, but saving yourself from even a single session of sorting a mixed batch of Lego IMO is worth it. I could typically find them for around $5-15 bucks or so and never really needed more than 1 or 2.

Although if you can find a plastic box with a lid that neatly fits the cutlery tray, you could probably stack those trays inside and emulate the plastic utility box idea.

We got one of these sitting on our kitchen table right now. My son got it for his birthday yesterday and couldn't be more pleased (despite the glaring Slimer oversight).

Apparently the best thing to do is feel the bags until you find the right one. People have guides on the internet about what to look for.

I bought 9 so far without any duplicates, will have to look for the guides.

At the Lego store the employees explain how to properly identify the bags by feel. Worked pretty good for me. Left there after 20 minutes with all missing figures found.

Not sure if this has been discussed, but there's just something wrong with the idea of Lego Minecraft

The Exo Suit is now for sale. It's supposedly a limited run so if you want one I'd order it today.

Alright you man-boys, nerds, and failed engineering students. Go take it to 'Food and Entertainment'. There are mods here that can make the switch.
