How Team Canada players are doing after being selected
Kind of interesting how the players selected for Team Canada are doing in the NHL after they were selected.
A few of the bubble picks have not been doing as well as hoped.
The defense looks pretty ordinary (-2) as a group. Will have to play a whole lot better for Team Canada to have a chance.
Nash has been almost a goal a game since he was picked.

Fat Rick Nash put down the cheese burger and started hitting the net as of late. That's good.

Nash 7 goals no assists. Damn, it's hard to do that if you tried.

Giordano is better than Vlasic and even Hamhuis... Still bothers me that he didn't make the team.

Nash will be good with a centre who can feed the big guy in front of the net. Not everybody needs to be a setup guy.

Nash isn't really on the team to score goals but if he can get some points that will be a bonus.

I still can't get over the fact that they left off Brent Seabrook and Martin St.Louis. makes me mad

Three reasons he didn't make the team compared to those two; his injury of course, being on a losing team probably didn't help, and his comparative lack of experience in the playoffs. I imagine actually playing in Russia probably helped quite a bit though, but I can see why he was left off the team for those reasons.
It's still crazy that he was that much closer to making the team then Phaneuf, Bouwmeester, and Regehr were in 2010 (most of which I considered locks at one point in time).

Nash is still an elite pure goal scorer despite his earlier struggles this season. He is absolutely on the team to score goals; the Getzlaf, Perry, Nash line in 2010 and in previous world championships has been deadly.

Is anyone really at all concerned about this group of defensemen not performing next month? In my mind, the fact that some players are currently not playing great is not much of a concern, since virtually every player on the roster has proven themselves, either at the last Olympics, in the NHL playoffs, or in other international competitions.

Hopefully a Dman gets hurt, so Gio can be named to the team. Apparently he is next in line.

Thats exactly what he's there for. He's not a checker, he will play top 6 and expected to score goals and hopefully he does. He's a good pick.
