Any time you read a story about the inner workings of the Trump administration, best to put on the Benny Hill theme in the background.
Quote:
He had grown enraged by the Russia investigation, two advisers said, frustrated by his inability to control the mushrooming narrative around Russia. He repeatedly asked aides why the Russia investigation wouldn’t disappear and demanded they speak out for him. He would sometimes scream at television clips about the probe, one adviser said.
This doesn't really make much sense though, it's not like firing Comey will stop any ongoing investigations or prevent them from finding anything (assuming it exists to be found). It's not like Comey was doing the investigation on his own and all the info existed inside his head and firing him means the investigation was over.
So the idea that Trump's doing this to try and head off any investigation findings doesn't really make much sense, and that democratic politicians are grasping onto that narrative seems a bit overzealous, eager to grab the conclusion that does the most harm. No different than the whole Benghazi thing.
That said Trump's not that grounded in reality, so maybe he thinks this will accomplish that goal. Or Trump's just doing what's served him well when things aren't going his way which is create chaos.
Trump demands fierce loyalty, that's the most important thing to him. Comey by accounts is an independent person not one to act out of loyalty.
So I think it's more likely that Trump's frustrated with the Russia connection stories, feels the need to act, sees Comey as disloyal, and just acts.

There was an interesting Hidden Brain podcast recently that disclosed some of the data patterns Google collected over the course of the last little while, essentially confirming both the prevalence of white vs. black racism in the States, and the higher likelihood of racism among Trump voters.
But it wasn't always (or just) the states you might expect (I'm looking at you, Pennsylvania).
I wonder what else Google could tell us if we could only get access.
Oh, I could've told you PA harbors a whole lot of racists, especially once you step outside of Pittsburgh/Philly. Pittsburgh and Philly also have race issues--gentrification is a big problem with Pittsburgh's renaissance as a city, but that's a discussion for another time. The minute you're in rural PA, there are Confederate flags everywhere and unabashed racism is rampant. It's not subtle gentrification, it's just outwardly displayed. And you really don't even have to go that far outside of the city.
Especially among older people--I have the sweetest little old ladies who come into my salon, they treat you like you're their grandchild and then all of a sudden they're saying "negro" and "colored" and calling Obama the freaking Anti-Christ. But it's not all senior citizens, after the 2012 election we also had a 45 year old man come in and berate one of our stylists because, without confirmation, he just threw out "Oh, I bet you voted for that *n-word*"
KAC is back on TV, did not miss her at all. What a dbag.
She is amazing, horrible but amazing. Like a weird robot. It was funny but depressing to see Anderson Cooper roll his eyes and whatnot at her responses (or non responses) to his questions. She's always on message, whatever has been programmed into her that day.
Her eyes look dead inside.

This is the first thing I saw this morning, and this isn't even the whole thing. It was 10 minutes or so of this.
I would not want to be a part of Trump's Secret Service detail these days.
That's the biggest problem these days. Not enough politicians get shot. Hell, even Reagan took a bullet. They don't need to be killed, just puts a little fear in them. Remind them they, and their constituents are alive, and #### they do matters. What's the point in as country having all those guns if you don't get to use them on a politician every once and a while?

Trump is saying both parties will thank him for firing Comey and does not understand the firing outrage. Meanwhile Democratic Senators want to hire Comey to run an independent investigation of Trump.
I'm not sure what the message is from the GOP or if they have a unified message or position.

No one has said you can't call Huckabee a moron. Though I don't think he is; he's more of an opportunist. Guy has always struck me as a pretty cynical operator.

To dispell the notion that Republicans aren't in on the Trump Russia scandal suppression, Mitch McConnell rejects calls for an independent investigation into Trumps Russia ties
If there is "no there, there" what do they have to fear from a Special Prosecutor? Indeed, this is the only way the administration could be fully vindicated.
They are traitors who have no interest in vindication of administration. They just care about maintaining power.
Senate is incredibly important as there cannot be a new FBI director until the senate confirms. Also any impeachment of Trump and Pence is pushed by the house, the trial takes place on the Senate floor. GOP controlled senate has already signalled where their interests are with Mitch's Statement.
