I'm sitting in my office at work with tears in my eyes, hoping nobody comes to my door for a couple minutes! You've handled this like few of us could and I think we'll all take something important away from what you've shared along the way. Your Dad did a phenomenal job.

Chris, your posts have been nothing short of incredible. I'm terrified at the prospect of losing my Dad. I will try to employ a lot of the things you have done when that time comes.
All the best to you and yours.

This topic has been on my mind for the last year. My dad turns 85 this year. In the last year he had a heart value replacement and a double hernia operation. The crazy old guy keeps going. In less than 3 months since his last surgery he is back on the course shooting under his age again. That's where it gets me. I have always looked at him as indestructible. He retired for a week at age 65 and then went back to work till he was 79. But I know his time is coming. This thread has been a really good read in preparing me for that day.
Thanks for sharing your story. I lost my dad when I was 9 to an auto accident. I was too young to really comprehend what it meant. I have 2 young sons of my own and I already worry daily about leaving them in a similar manner and not being able to say goodbye or how to pass on knowledge and wisdom. Seeing your posts has been an inspiration and hopefully can shape my actions with my son's. Thanks again.

Saddening to hear of your fathers passing Chris, but know that your families story has touched many of us. It's provided great perspective, a reminder of what's most important in life, and inspired me to be a better person / show more compassion.
Condolences to you and your family, Chris. This has been one of the most amazing and beautiful threads to read on CP, and I want to thank-you for letting us into your life and sharing this time and story with us. Your love for your dad and your family is inspiring and beautiful.
