Favourite moderately priced vehicles over the years
Same theme as the other thread, only this time what vehicles over the years, that weren't high end sports cars, or luxury vehicles did you own or see and go "Man, that's a nice looking vehicle".
I refuse to make CP 1% jokes, but I do realize that moderately priced may be kind of subjective. Not a huge deal, but being a realist I've just always had an eye for enjoying moderately priced vehicles on the road instead of dreaming of the big fish like most guys do when they talk cars.
I'll start. I always used to like Jeep Cherokees in the 90's. They had a weird boxy style, but I used to just like them for some reason.

I still love VW Golf/Jetta's from the early 2000's. They're a 16 year old design now, but I still don't think they look outdated,
Especially compared to other designs in that market at the time.

Saab 9-2X Aero, I like it much better then the Impreza WRX of that vintage.
If I could find a clean example of one, I'd buy it immediately!

To me, the BRZ limited looks pretty good considering the price, got to drive one and they're a lot of fun too.

It's funny that being practical and maximizing space by being a box is considered weird these days! Sounds totally reasonable to me. And yeah, I've always loved the Cherokee too..there's something very honest about that design.
The one reasonably priced vehicle I've always loved is the 90s Toyota Previa. It's such an anomaly. It's mid-engined (something you rarely see outside of a sports car), had AWD, and it came in a manual transmission...all in a package that I think still looks better than any van out there today. I would totally rock this.
I've also been a big fan of the Toyota Hi-Ace, that we unfortunately can't get here. This thing has a tiny foot-print, but massive interior space. It's a workhorse in many parts of the world, and wish we had it here, as I think it would make a great taxi/delivery van/etc.
Speaking of reasonably priced vehicles we can't get, I've always been a big fan of the Toyota Landcruisers you can get in the rest of the world. Love the boxy simplicity of them (not unlike that Cherokee), and they seem like real workhorses. Also like that there's no overt dick swinging "I'm tougher than tough" aura about it that you get with most of the trucks that are available here.
Geez, looks like I like Toyotas. I love what Toyota used to be in the 90s...and it seems you can get a bit of that in other parts of the world still. Here we seem to just get soulless appliances.

Might as well throw in another everyday brand that I like, but can't buy here. I'd love to be able to get this Skoda Octavia. Supposedly the poor man's VW, but they've gained a reputation to be more reliable than their parent company.

I'd love to buy one of these. I have a tough time finding something that will haul 4x8 sheets and still fit in my garage. Everything's either too short or too tall.

My kickass 2010 Odyssey with the 2nd row seats removed and 3rd row folded down can accommodate 4X8 sheets.

I had a Chevy Tracker that I mistreated and neglected for 12 years and almost 300k km, and it refused to die.
I can't say I loved the vehicle, but it sure was resilient.

I loved my E36 BMW back in the day. It was a 10 year car and still fit in on the roads and if taken care of looked like it was only a few years old.
Also have to second the MK4 Jetta as they also looked ahead of their time.
I now drive a newer C class and love the wide stance and front end. I think they will still look modern in 5-10 years! The reliability is a different story :S

I put 100km on one of these. Bought it with over 200km on it. All I had to do was replace the harmonic balancer, brakes once and tires once. I still see it around the neighbourhood.
It did use about 1L of oil every couple months though, Cheroleakee was not exaggeration.

Have wanted one of these for a few years.
Back in my younger days when I drove a lot faster than I do now, whenever someone passed me on the highway, it was invariably an Outback. It's like it gave its driver some hellishly high level of confidence, especially in terrible weather. Not to mention it's not ugly for a wagon, and it's super practical.
Sad they've made it into a bit of an ugly truck now.
