A lot of worry warts. Treliving is a wIzard not a dummy. The 1st rounder is going nowhere. Jesus.

This.
Its a done deal and likely just have to finalize some things with the league and/or inform the player(s) involved.

Even if Brouwer were going the other way, Arizona should have to add something like a 2nd rounder.

A 1st would be bad. But I don't think that's the case. Brad isn't that desperate.

16th overall?
Haha. No way would Tre trade 16th overall for a 35 year old goalie.
This starting to remind me of the Hamilton trade thread while waited for word on the return.
"Aw man, we're gonna lose Johnny in this"
"Gotta be Brodie + Bennett going the other way"
I highly doubt Tre gets fleeced here guys.
The only way our 1st is involved is if there is more coming with Smith in the deal IMO.

Smith is a good acquisition for the Flames. Whether it's a good trade or not depends on the price. So we wait.

And 3 years ago he was 3.14 with a 0.904.
You can't Cherry pick her and he's way older with a huge contract

I don't bury my head in the sand when it comes to analytics...but c'mon man. The game of hockey is being reduced to a bunch of charts by so many now.

Giving Brouwer $16 million for starters.

Starting goaltender is going to be the "new center for Iggy" for this era of players.

Treliving with more wizardry will get Strome/Reider/Duclair along with Smith for Brouwer, Bouma and a 7th.

McKenzie suggesting the Flames may be moving down and Arizona will retain salary
News UpdateBob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Assuming CGY/ARI get Smith trade done, key component will be ARI retaining $. CGY has 16th pick in draft; ARI has 23rd. Flip flop possible?

I'd rather have Hiller than Elliott.
I'd rather have Joey MacDonald.
I'd rather Blake Comeau strap on the goalie pads.

...and the most back-breaking of all goals, the dreadful wrist shot at the end of the 2nd in game 3 would never have squeaked past a big goalie like Smith.
He's an upgrade for that reason alone.
